As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

OK so in you're opinion it was not OK for the Lab govt to sign off on the deal for the restoration of the lodge, but did parliament approve of this funding ATT
and how do feel about napthine locking Vic into the infamous east/west link ( i think it was one week before going into caretaker mode) was that OK by you or not?
obviously Victorians didn't want it, or didn't approve of him rushing the contracts through as they overwhelming voted out his govt.

and why we are taliking about budgets!
. ABC News
Treasurer Wayne Swan has acknowledged itโs unlikely the government will deliver the budget surplus it had been promising for next year, following the release of a disappointing monthly financial statement for October.
โThere has been a substantial hit to profits that Australian companies have experienced in the early months of this financial year,โ Mr Swan told journalists in Canberra today.
The government had planned to deliver a surplus of $1.1 billion for 2012/13, however todayโs October financial statement showed falling cash receipts, with a $3.9 billion reduction in the four months to November.

Well if morrison cuts welfare to some of the unmarried bogans running round with 4 kids to 3 different fathers,

What a load of nonsense... what length of time is your assumed 'each period'??
Do you mean the baby bonus?. Do try and keep up, your information is incorrect and out of date anyway. The Baby Bonus was abolished by the Labor Govt in the May 2013 Budget
The Baby Bonus will be replaced from 1 March 2014 with a rate increase of Family Tax Benefit Part A for children who are born, taken into care for at least 13 weeks, or placed for adoption after 1 March 2014.
The extra Family Tax Benefit Part A payments for families will total $2,000 for their first child and $1,000 for subsequent children. It will be paid as an initial instalment of $500, with the rest rolled into normal fortnightly payments over a three month period.
Baby Bonus
....If your child was born or adopted, or you became eligible for Baby Bonus, on or after 1 July 2013, Baby Bonus is either $5,000 or $3,000 depending on your situation.
You can get the $5,000 payment if your child is the first child you or your partner have given birth to (excluding stillbirth), adopted, or had entrusted to your care within 26 weeks of birth. Otherwise, you can get the $3,000 payment.
People will not be eligible to receive both Parental Leave Pay and the rate increase of Family Tax Benefit Part A.
We pay Baby Bonus in 13 fortnightly instalments.
If you are eligible for $5,000, you will get $846.20 in the first fortnight and $346.15 in the next 12 fortnights.
If you are eligible for $3,000, you will get $692.40 in the first fortnight and $192.30 in the next 12 fortnights.

Hospitals lose another $1 billion in Commonwealth surgical strike
The Federal Government has slashed a further almost $1 billion from public hospital funding as part of savings outlined in its mid-year Budget update.
The Independent Hospital Pricing Authority has estimated that price growth for hospital services will be lower than previously forecast, saving the Commonwealth $941 million over four years to 2017-18.
The downward revision reflects lower than expected National Efficient Price projections, partly offset by expectations of increased hospital activity, and comes in addition to massive cuts detailed in the May Budget.
In the Budget, the Government announced it would save $1.8 billion between 2014-15 and 2017-18 by walking away from its public hospital funding guarantees, and would save an additional $16.4 billion over five years by scrapping its National Health Reform Agreement commitments. It will also save hundreds of millions of dollars each year by dumping the efficient growth dividend payments that were due to kick in from 2017-18.
The huge cuts to Commonwealth hospital funding have angered State and Territory governments, and have raised doubts about the ability of public hospitals to reach performance targets set out under the NHRA, including cutting waiting lists for elective surgery and boosting emergency department treatment times.
A recent Australian Institute of Health and Welfare report showed that public hospitals continue to fall well short of agreed performance benchmarks, despite improvements.
