As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

When the pair went to university, Ms Donnelly gave birth to a baby boy at Mater Hospital, Crows Nest, on July 26, 1977.
Mr Abbott was under the impression that the baby was his son and he saw him briefly before Ms Donnelly relinquished the boy for adoption five days after the birth.
Doesn't sound like a joint effort by both parents to agree to give the baby up for adoption. The mother probably knew the baby could be the child of either of her two boyfriends.
no, from what you posted, it doesn't.
from this (fairfax media) - it does:
Daniel O'Connor's mother, Kathy Donnelly, had always believed that Mr Abbott, with whom she had a relationship when he was a teenage law student in Sydney, was the biological father.
Five days after Mr O'Connor was born, in July 1977, Mrs Donnelly and Mr Abbott decided to give him up for adoption.

Who is Christian Porter?
An Australian politician who is the current Liberal Party member for the federal Division of Pearce since the 2013 federal election.
Porter has been a Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister since December 2014.
“Personal rumours about the Treasurer/Attorney’s supposedly mid-life crisis related behaviour have also done the rounds last night, with fevered speculation on his personal situation perhaps informed by his past record of ditching the first wife, Lucy – in the style of Don Draper – for the secretary, Jennifer, after a wild three-day wine-swilling bed-creaking weekend at Margaret River that came to the attention of first wife. Not good. But that was then, and this is now and there’s nothing to the new speculation, Liberal insiders say.“
.................................................................................................................................................................................................................
and if you research all this caper.....you will discover that this electorate was magically invented just for him!
His background is 'born into the blue tie' brigade.....Grandfather.......Father.....etc etc.
Funnily enough CP was made a captain only 4 months after joining the LNP........Hhhmmmmmn
and Christian Porter resigned his post as WA State Treasurer 12 months before WA State election.....a deserter!!

Abbott announced he had found a long lost son, before he bothered to have DNA checks done.
He was prepared to acknowlege the truth. Wouldn't be thefirst man tricked into admitting paternity. Thank god for DNA. I just felt sorry for the young man.
Your reply doesn't make sense really. As I see it what you posted agrees with what I posted. If the 'adopted' out baby, wanted to know who his natural father was and his birth mother told him it was Tony Abbott. TA should have got the DNA check done before going public... just made him look like a big wally and exposed his lifestlye at the time of the child's birth. I agree, Ifeel sorry for they young man.. he should have had DNA proof also before being told who his Dad was (which went public).

Post (s) were specifically about Tony Abbott, Catholic, trained to be a priest...still pushes his outdated Christian views.. wasn't too saintly himself at a young age. It was not a generalisation, it refered to Tony Abbott, a practising Catholic.
