Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

She brought politics into it by saying because she opposed the elected Gov'ts policiies she wouldn't read the message,

regardless of whether the auctual message had anything to do with the Asylum Seeker policy.

The Aust Gov't grants citizenship, NOT Moreland Council.

Anyway, I think you get a message from the Gov't in writing when you take citizenship.

I know I did, as did my parents / brother at a different time.

Small minded Labor / Green Councils are a PITA in Victoria, they push their own agendas on everyone,

even if you don't agree with them.

Jeff Kennett had the right idea, I think the same clean out is required every 20 years or so.

Why the dumb question?

True. I guess it deserved the dumb answer.

There's already backstabbing going on within the LNP, I'm sure they'll sort out a new leader soon.

Maybe, but that's just speculation on your part.

Kind of funny as Labor's leadership change was a big part of the LNP's election campaign, lol

And it will be a similar gift to the ALP. If they get elected, that is.

poor tony

Bring it on!
Indeed.

You think the Libs have the right to turn our democracy into a dictatorship when it suits their agenda?

No, they don't. The councils are elected by the residents and the govt of the day has to work with that.

And no, if it's not compulsory under the legislation to read a letter from Morrison it is NOT compulsory and he has no right to stand over and make threats to council representatives and officials.

Boris

You asked for successes of this Gov't, here is one.

Australia votes against Palestinian UN resolution on Israel

Australia has voted against a proposal in the United Nations Security Council demanding Israel end the occupation of Palestinian territories within two years.

Australia joined the United States as the only two countries to vote against the draft resolution in New York on Tuesday, local time.

It was the first time Australia has voted against a proposed resolution during a two-year term on the council.

Some of the Labor Councils act like dictatorships themselves.

Especially over Green edicts, which thankfully the last Royal Commission canned them over so

now they won't have it so easy.

That's only your opinion.  It has nothing to do with morrison bullying the mayor and officials in question.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

A few more successes

Scrapped the Climate coalition.

Scrapped the 2020 emissions target.

Ignored an order from the United Nations Human Rights Committee to release some asylum seekers

who are being illegally held without proof or judicial protection, in cruel, inhumane or degrading circumstance

(Because it is the UNHRC interpretation of it, not ours, WE as in Australia should NOT

be dictated to by the UN)

Withdrew from the UN Refugee Convention (Oh that was so sweet)

I have said before that when the left dictatorship becomes over bearing, people just start to ignore them.

Now the UN HRC does not have accesss to the Gov't so they lose, we don't because THEY NEED

the access to the gov't, we DO NOT NEED them. End result, they have even LESS influence, which

is a good thing in a lot of people's eyes.

I am sure I can find a few more achievments.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Oh, you can tell the UN HRC hates it by the increased level of bleeting in the media.

Because they don't have access to the Gov't and what they want to look at, they have to bleet like a stuck pig

in the media to try to get the message across. Major dummy spit and not likely to endear them to the Gov't

or get them access to what they want to inspect, on the basis that the Gov't can control where they go and

what they see in Australia.

All we need now is for the Gov't to refuse entry to Australia by UN HRC personnel.

I think on the basis that they are undesireables would be a fair and just call.

I think the abbott should stay until the next election - a change in leader will make no difference to the policies that the govt are trying to introduce - they will still be taking orders from rupert, big business and the IPA.

And what is wrong with the IPA ?

Labor takes orders from the Unions, Greens and lefty organisations ?
