Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Well, yes, as explained above, he has promised to create millions of jobs. What he has actually done is target unemployed. In areas where there is no work..all the unemployed obviuosly aren't dole bludgers, but they will be dealt with as if they are.

Thanks, Tony. I didn't realise he pays that out of his own personal income. If his Govt creates more jobs as promised, those with student loans can pay back their loan. It is a double edged sword. No job or low income - grads can't pay back their loans.

They don't know what the LNP has said, but they agree with what they said anyway.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

My daughter liked the sound of the million jobs created promise by Abbott. Until she looked into it and saw the timeframe. Her being a voter in the last election and will be graduating this year..

What use to her ( and others) is a promise of new jobs in 5 or 10 years, when they one now or soon?

Besides that, Abbott won't (hopefully) still be around after 3 years.

no he doesn't

Why not.

The article in the link says 1 million jobs over 5 years.

It says it will fall at least 200,000 jobs short.

So He was elected 12 months ago, he has 4 years to go to achieve the target ?

Well we shall see in 4 years time then won't we.

And since you are doing such a good job of talking down everything,
I suppose it will be worse than that !
