As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.![]()
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

So am3
Are you employed or looking for a job ?
The target of the Welfare focus is not the unemployed, it is the unelmployed who don't look for a job
or who just don't turn up for an appointment and waste everyone's time.
Look at that video link I posted, 4.5 million appointments not kept, and most not contacted to say they weren't going to attend.

i am referring specifically to the
speech boris quoted.
where was the pm then and to whom
was he speaking ?
note the first speech, looking straight into the camera, that was his media speech
the first speech is the media conference -
standing next to prime minister al-Abadi and
you can clearly see the microphones.
here is that entire speech -
NOT the one boris quoted.

Why don't you ask the Illawarra council what they are doing ?
Have you ever asked them what they are doing ?
They had plenty of warning BHP was likely to close and that was 4 years ago.
Nwecastle / Hunter valley went through the same thing.
"The % of dole bludgers is very low. Those that genuinely want to work will be treated like dole bludgers under the Abbott Govt. The Abbott Govt has not dobe anything as promised re job creation, but it is going to punish genuine jobseekers anyway."
Low yes, it should be zero and what is wrong with targeting the bludgers ???????????
The figures in that video suggest that when the rules came in, the numbers jumped.
Did you watch it ?
