As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.![]()
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Yes.
This is what normally happens. The media companies share the costs.
On previous visits โ including those by John Howard, Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard โ the pool crews have usually comprised a camera crew, a radio journalist, a journalist from Australian Associated Press and two print journalists, one from NewsCorp Australia and one from Fairfax.
All footage of the visit was shot by Mr Abbottโs own cameraman and photographer, who is paid as an adviser within the Prime Ministerโs office.
Wonder what is name is. Wonder what he does when he is not out taking photos... surely that (snapping photos of TA) doesn't keep him busy 40hrs a week. Wonder what the photographers annual salary is.

It's a dodgy look for a PM too, especially walking with military personnel.

It sure is... a hillbilly, country bumpkin, Tone look. No class whatsoever.
I can just hear a mother yelling ' get yer hands out of your pockets'.

to glee in replying to aps, our own C&S Professor of Psychology:
A coax cable is not what the NBN was about. A coax cable doesn't have the same sort of capacity, quality or potential to operate in the same sort of price range as the proper NBN would have. Pockets of HFC cable are not the fibre infrastructure we need for the future. CORRECT glee
As an aside, what exactly is it that you think gives you the right to apply derogatory names to other people? aps has been really rude and personal in comments to am3....I won't repeat here
Is it impossible for you to just look at people as people without applying your own brand of arrogance and calling other people names, like a smarmy school bully boy? and the Professor of Psychology called me 'Smarty' pants earlier on in here LOL or similar !!
I should insist he address me using my full title of Prof. Smarty Pants paintsew007 ![]()
