As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Recent polls show a significant slump in support for the LNP, as Mr Newman also faces a stiff challenge in his own seat of Ashgrove.
Labor candidate Kate Jones, who held Ashgrove from 2006 to 2012, announced in September she planned to recontest the seat.
The poll would likely be held in late January or early February, almost two months earlier than expected. LOL
ROFLMAO !!!!!!!!

Leading businesses call for senate reform to restore order
Leaders of Australia's biggest businesses have blasted the nation's Senate as obstructive and demanded reform to restore order to government.
In a survey of chief executives of the country's biggest companies by the Australian Financial Revie..., numerous business leaders identified the senate and the power of cross bench senators in particular as a worrying development.
Many called for longer terms of government to allow governments to implement meaningful reform.
"As it stands, there is policy chaos where individuals, with very small percentages of the vote, are driving narrow, vested agendas," said Lance Hockridge, chief executive of logistics company Aurizon.
Wesfarmers' chief executive Richard Goyder warned that "preference gaming" had led to the election of people on the back of very few votes.
It was a "ridiculous situation" said Healthscope chief executive Robert Cooke.
The heads of Australia's largest miners also issued warnings about what the downturn in the commodity cycle could...
Several CEOs also warned that complacency about potential weakness in the economy was a major risk for the coming year.

Abbot Point: Dumping on land at Caley Valley
The Federal and Queensland governments have now approved dumping the Abbott Point dredge material in the pristine Caley Valley wetlands, thereby destroying two ecosystems for the price of one. Lachlan Barker reports.
DESTROYING TWO ECOSYSTEMS FOR THE PRICE OF ONE
Time to catch up on the unbelievable antics of the Federal and Queensland governments, regarding Abbot Point in north Queensland.
The history (in brief) is that to expand the coal loader port at Abbot Point these two governments took the lunatic decision to dump the spoil from the dredging required into theGreat Barrier Reef Marine Park.

yes because we really want "leading business" types running the country....oh wait
So Iraq broke the news that the abbott was going to pop in for a visit over a week ago, so much for the "unannounced" visit.

Not a problem if it doesn't go ahead, as long as you deduct the 34,000 jobs and flow on jobs from the 1 million target.
Re the article, I like the use of "possible toxic material". Gotta get those key dirty words in to make sure the left brigade can get a good frothing at the mouth going ! They either know if it's toxic or not and I would say not by the way it is worded.
