As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Odd bunch
Changes to GST to come? Labor thinks so.
Acting Treasurer Mathias Cormann has tried to squash any suggestion that the Abbott government is considering raising GST, saying there are "absolutely no plans" to do so this term, despite Trade Minister Andrew Robb outing himself as a supporter of expanding GST.
Mr Robb said this week that the goods and services tax should be extended to products such as fresh food and education, in what could be the first clear sign of a coordinated campaign underway within the Abbott government to tackle the thorny issue.
He told Fairfax Media that the government did not have plans to change the tax before the next federal election, which is due in 2016, but his comments echoed three Liberal backbenchers who this week called for the big shift in taxation policy.
It was enough for Labor to claim the government was now mounting a guerrilla campaign to build support for changing the tax.

When is the NSW election due? Is it a fixed term, or can they have a tantrum panic attack and make it imminent?

โIโm just so mortified and really disappointed in myself because I have worked really hard over the past three years putting my heart and soul into this community and making sure they have a strong voice in parliament.โ
Mr Newman yesterday described Ms Barton as โa young first-term backbencherโ. When asked by a reporter โdid she drive ยญunlicensed Premier?โ, Mr Newman replied โWell, thatโs what she has โfessed up to, yes.โ
what?? so this woman, an LNP backbencher has been driving around without a licence unknowingly?? How is that even possible?? that is a chargable offence afaik..... and yet, a guy gets arrested for wearing a T-shirt..... OK lol

not defending driving unlicensed but do know one person who did same a few years ago, here in WA. Was easy to forget to pay licence renewals as notice arrives 6wks approx before due date......now you can register to have Dept of Transport to also send you a reminder by sms/email just before lic has to be paid so that you don't forget.
Busy people forget things sometimes.
The key is to be organised.

"Made a mistake" twice. Haha.
The trolls toll takers send threatening letters, more threatening each time. She must have received them. An airhead?
They sent them to me several times, increasing the amount owing each time, after I paid the toll on the day I received the first invoice. Incredibly inefficient. Lots of errors made, according to reports.
