Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Queensland Premier Campbell Newman has confirmed demoted frontbencher David Gibson did not disclose his 10-year record of traffic offences when he agreed to be minister for police.

Mr Gibson lost his portfolio on Monday night after advising Mr Newman he was allegedly caught speeding on February 16 while his licence was suspended.

Mr Newman said today Mr Gibson also used the opportunity to tell him of past driving infringements.

‘‘Mr Gibson did reveal details of his previous driving record,’’ he told reporters in Cairns.

‘‘I’m not aware of [previous suspensions], I’m aware though from seeing his driving record over the past 10 years that he had a number of speeding infringements.

Former Queensland MP Scott Driscoll has been charged with multiple counts of fraud following an investigation by police and the state's corruption watchdog.

Mr Driscoll won Redcliffe for the LNP in 2012, but he became an independent when the party lost confidence in him in March 2013.

In 1990 Sir Joh was charged with corruption and perjury.

THE notorious Ratpack that ruled Queensland for decades conspired with then premier Joh Bjelke-Petersen to install a bent cop into the top job, sparking the most corrupt period in the state’s history.

I could go on, but that'll do for now.

As history and BIG images are "in", I give you  some  Qld Alp driving history:

2007

A Queensland Labor MP has been stood down as a parliamentary secretary and told he will never be transport minister after details of his bad driving record were revealed.

Michael Choi was stood down as parliamentary secretary to the transport minister after Premier Anna Bligh was alerted to his long list of driving offences.

2007

Karen Struthers, the ALP  parliamentary secretary to the state's health minister and MP for Algester, was arrested on Friday night after blowing 0.16 in a breath test while driving a government car.

2004

Queensland State ALP MP  Gary Fenlon  Member for Greenslopes  — now the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Transport Trade Employment and IR was involved in a serious road smash on that State’s Sunshine Coast in 2004. Premier Anna Bligh said Mr Fenlon had accumulated several speeding fines over the past few years. His 2004 incident resulted from driving “without due care and attention” when he veered into a woman at a petrol station leaving her with life-injuries.

However the ALP parliamentarians  are  clear winners (and not just in Queensland)  when it comes to criminal convictions, the child sex convictions are particularly disturbing

You do realize that none of that has the slightest bit of relevance to the QLD election in 2015 or the current govt?

Notice they have all jumped on the Abbott is going to increase the GST band wagon but none of them

are game enough to enter into a discussion about what Labor would do if they got in - which is increase

the GST or spread what it applies to.

No, back to the kindergarten pictures !

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Labor might very well be honest and say they're increasing the GST to 12.5%. Perhaps if TA had not proclaimed so many countless times before and after he was elected that he would'nt increase GST maybe people would be more understanding

it's more about lying to the electorate that gets up people's noses

I haven't that the Labor party have announced that. Could you supply details of when they did, or is this your imagination running wild again

It's lets pretend the ALP is going to do whatever we make up because our horse the LyingNP have proved themselves to be utterly incompetent, have lied and lied, have increased unemployment and have attacked the poorest in society, so we have nothing, nothing except to make up rubbish and repeat the lies we have seen in the daily telesmear.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Why? To fix the LNP mess. Only halfway through a 3 year term, and so much damage been done already. Not to mention the economic mess they've created.
