As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

debra - or do we bow down and call you god almighty ????
You and others ALWAYS seem to be able to find a negative.
You lot winge about jobs being created, so they are, then you just have to find a negative.
F G S, let it go.
The way you lot go on here with your negativity, it's no wonder the economy is weak !

Wrong.
Please note it is not about any me,we,us it is about how Australians as a whole are being treated (badly) by the current Govt.
Side tracking by making incorrect assumptions about other posters doesn't change the focus from the poorly performing Abbott Govt.

You suck it up and move on to whereever life takes you.
Are you assuming everyone here has not done that at some time in their life already? How do you think I ended up in Australia? You can speak for yourself but you can't speak for the rest of the country.

That's because there are way too many negatives with this govt, so it's actually very easy to find and discuss them and no, I won't stop bringing them up no matter how much anyone tries to bully me 😃
There seems to be a comprehension problem regarding jobs, no-one here is negative about jobs, there are more jobs being advertised, (don't know if they're full time jobs) but the new job ads are not compensating for the current loss of jobs, so our unemployment rate is still, the highest it's been in 12 years.
It remains at 6.3% despite more jobs being advertised on the internet
Hope people understand that
It's the way it is these days. Jeesus, the amount of time in my lifetime I've had to suck up that those I didn't vote for got in. Grow the hell up.

Just out of curiosity those men whe moved to NT for work. Were they from Melbourne? And did they have families here?
One was a kiwi, not sure where he moved from, might have been Qld. He now works on an Island off NT,
was originally working just out of Darwin. Yes, he had a wife.
Others, the guy with 7 houses, yes, he originally moved there from Qld with family, 2 youngish kids at the time.
Mine guy, yes, family with young kids. Originally from OS but this was not his first job in Aus.
Army guy, no family.

I assume, from your posts, that you haven't had any hardships. And I'd assume you ended up in Australia because it was your parent's future. Way to go dissing them for wanting better for you.
