As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Gallows humour, a lot of people have it.
Someone wants to or is stupid enough to swallow razor blades, sorry but they deserve to be the butt of jokes.
Comedy is always someone elses tragedy !

A FINAL act of the Newman government before calling the Queensland state election was approval for a controversial coalmine development by a company that had donated $650,000 to the Liberal National Party.
Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney announced that the Co-ordinator-General had approved the Acland stage-three mine late on December 19 as business wound down for Christmas and in the wake of the Sydney siege and multiple stabbing murders in Cairns.
He said the $900 million project would create more than 250 jobs during construction and another 435 when in operation.

Queensland Premier Campbell Newman to lose seat in latest poll
The latest poll predicts Queensland Premier Campbell Newman will lose his Ashgrove seat, leaving a re-elected Liberal National Party (LNP) government to pick a new leader.
The ReachTEL poll, commissioned by Seven News, shows Mr Newman is continuing to trail Labor's Kate Jones, who is trying to reclaim the electorate she held for two terms
on 15-01-2015 09:20 AM
Queensland Premier Campbell Newman says the Liberal National Party is expecting to get more cash than forecast from asset leases, with any extra money to pay down debt and fund infrastructure.
Mr Newman is outspending Labor in election commitments two to one.
Since Sunday the Premier has promised almost a billion dollars' worth of infrastructure projects.
However the pledges rely on revenue raised through privatising $37 billion worth of state assets, including ports and parts of the electricity network.
Mr Newman did not say what election promises would have to be broken if the Government does not get the asking price for the assets.

LABOR DRUNKS
Luke Foley’s drink-drive confession:
THE man who wants to become the state’s 45th premier has twice been convicted of drink-driving.
Labor leader Luke Foley made the admission to The Daily Telegraph yesterday in the hope of avoiding the appearance of skeletons from his past in the lead-up to the March 28 election.
The most recent offence was just before the 2007 state election when Mr Foley, then Labor’s Left Assistant Secretary, said he was going home from a Labor Party fundraiser and blew 0.085 on Parramatta Rd. His licence was suspended for nine months.
on 15-01-2015 10:08 AM
He said his first offence occurred when he was 23 and he was busted in Goulburn when he blew about 0.07 after leaving a party to stay at a hotel in the town.
Mr Foley, 44, said on that occasion, because his offence was low-range, his licence was suspended for only a fortnight. He was convicted for both offences after entering guilty pleas.
when he was 23 lol
at least he was charged, and that Verity whatever her name is, Qld backbencher should also face charges for driving without a license which is also a criminal act

Abbott government failure to consult doctors about rebate changes 'really dumb'
on 15-01-2015 10:28 AM
It was 'very dumb'. Another group of voters the Govt has got offside. Ones who will be putting up anti Govt signs in their medical centres. Centres that have a lot of patients per year passing through them.
"AMA vice-president Stephen Parnis said he questioned the Government's reasons for changing the rebate.
"Yesterday the PM said this is about improving quality. It's actually not. It's really about trying to pull back over $1 billion into the budget," he told ABC News Breakfast.
"That is their first priority, and what we are concerned about, our first priority as health care is this will undermine the provision of care."
