Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday that the number of people employed rose by 37,400 to 11.67 million in December, against market expectations of 5,000 newly employed.

The participation rate climbed from 64.7 per cent of the population to 64.8 per cent.

Spamming threads  contravenes board usage policy.

What were the number of job losses for the same period? Your post only tells part of a story.

How many of those jobs were permanent and full time?

The government has capitulated and scrapped its plans to next week cut the Medicare rebate by $20 for short visits to the doctor after a fierce backlash by doctors and non-government Senators.

In her first act as the New Health Minister, Sussan Ley broke her holidays on Thursday to announce that the cuts - quietly introduced by her predecessor Peter Dutton late last year - are now "off the table".

Just 24 hours earlier, Prime Minister Tony Abbott had strongly defended the measure as an "economic reform" that would lead to better patient care by busting the so-called practice of "six minute medicine" where short appointments are scheduled to maximise the number of taxpayer subsidies received.  Woman LOL Woman LOL Woman LOL

Are any of those in the current govt? or even standing for any election soon?

Go and get some new material. The repeats are rather boring.

I agree.

Verity Barton is a current standing member for the QLD LNP party, committed these offences as an LNP MP.... news articles about her are CURRENT news.

The QLD upcoming election is CURRENT news.

Why should we be limited to one post about her? No reason at all.

In the media today.

Opposition Leader Luke Foley encourages shadow cabinet to comeclean on drink driving convictions

NSW Opposition Leader Luke Foley has encouraged members of his shadow cabinet to publicly disclose if they have ever been convicted of drink driving after announcing he has twice been caught behind the wheel above the legal alcohol limit.

Mr Foley, 44, volunteered on Thursday morning that he has twice been convicted of drink driving.

Tut tut, a Labor person !

Yes, it's big news today Am. I'm thinking they scrapped it because the senate was going to give them angst over it and the huge public disapproval of it. QLD election in 2 week perhaps, they wanted to get in first , to look as it they care lol. I think she said it's on hold, so it will rear it's ugly head again maybe in 3 weeks lol

Funny isn't it that a handful of people really disapprove of us discussing current public affairs that effect all of us lol

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

22 hours ago! Still FRESH news compared to 2006 news (from mm). And it relates to a CURRENT MP.

Traffic police interview Broadwater MP Verity Barton for unlicensed driving, no charges laid

Not something superficial that is going to die a quiet death... and go away. Election near.. this poor behaviour for an MP will influence potetial LNP voters in QLD.

Just as well he realised early on that being a priest wasn't the right thing for him to be! I can't see that would have worked out, him not being top dog and thinking he can do what he wants when he wants.

The 'lieing' wouldn't have gone down well in that career either, rofl.
