As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

None of those who are anti-Abbott bother with personal attacks on other posters.
When pressed on how confident he would be in his support should there to be a spill, Mr Abbott told Sky News he was confident there would be no spill and that the government would pull together and get on with business at hand.
We will see how that plays out in the next week.

It's not the regular posters here doing the attacking imo, they're discussing politics until personal insults are brought in
Yeah, this thread didn't get to 8642 posts on personal insults.
The posts against the Abbott Govt rarely if ever get edited or removed by moderators either. Cool calm bunch we are.

Deb
You might be but certain others just post never ending stupid manipulated photos.
One or two fine .........
And the others just refuse to acknowledge certain things that this Gov't inherited or like the boats they stopped
as they said they would by shifting the emphasis to Manus Island etc or the fact that a lot of Australia voted
because they were sick of the country shoppers, shifting it to personality and leadership.

Well, you're entitled to that. BUT, as someone who really doesn't care too much about either side (because to me they're all the same) it reads one sided. That doesn't make me a moron, unless someone from whatever side chooses to label me one.
Back in your court.

True. There could be a bit of meeting up with other dissenters in the weekend too... for a bit of planning, encouragement etc.

You know what, If those posts don't contravene posting rules, then no other poster has any right to complain about them (whatever it is you are referring to).
Stop the boats is just one small part of this Govt... that can't be used to ignore all the other disasters that have struck home on Abbott this week.
Stop the boats isn't going to balance the Budget is it? That is a huge problem for the Govt and no its not Labors fault, it is dud proposals from The Treasurer.

I don't know, it's not worth being nasty to people over having differences in politics imo.
