As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

TA has once again threatened the diplomatic relationship we have with Indonesia. He has loose lips, and not a tactful bone in his body.
Who is advising this man on what to say and what not to say. If anything, he will simply anger the president, who has no intention of granting clemency anyway, but will never consider it when attacked with disparaging comments.

That is a "nice" C&P, (9450) are there any non C&P comments to accompany it?
Within the same article:
"The proof of that is that Labor and its populist collaborators in the Senate have suffered no real opprobrium from blocking its implementation, whereas the government's stocks have sunk sharply. Yet the real losers out of the short-term gridlock since May are voters themselves – or more pointedly, their children, who will foot the bill for problems left unaddressed."
"The cost of Abbott's overreach is that the real emergency, the long-term sleeper built into a budget heavy with big-ticket items such as Medicare, the NDIS, pensions and overly generous superannuation concessions, remains bereft of serious attention."
The ALP Circus were on the right track under Rudd when the commissioned the Henry Tax review . Sadly the 138 (good) suggestions (bar2) were politically unpalatable.
Meaning the would start bleating for yet more hand feeding/gimme gimme if the important suggestions were implemented.
I really must try a C&P sans comments. However, the allowable history period rule might be a problem.

Denigrating where articles come from is a 'left wing' thing isn't it.
Never mind the facts man just gimme the bias as long as it's left wing bias that's OK.

Australians will "fall off their chairs" when the inter-generational report is released, Treasurer Joe Hockey says, because for all the government's efforts "we still don't get anywhere near being able to reduce spending over the medium-term to the same level that exists today".
In a blunt warning ahead of the release of the report in the coming weeks, Mr Hockey said Australia faced a downward spiral of rising debt levels and ballooning interest repayments that would break the "compact between generations" of Australians.
this will boost Australias lack of business confidence for sure

Maybe that's what a lot of the whingers need. A good slap to wake them up to the disaster we are all facing if we keep SPENDING MORE THAN WE EARN......hello

I would denigrate quotes taken from comments on non official facebook pages & posted here as 'facts' any day of the week. All they are is gossip.
We get enough misleading/inaccurate comments about current affairs on CS as it is.
