As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.![]()
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Did anyone watch the hearing?
Tease out? Senator Collins asked Triggs about the visit from the Brandis Dept Secretary then Sen McDonald refused to allow her to continue, citing she was out of time, even though the previous dolt had been allowed to go over time. She was half way through a question and cut off. So the dolt could continue probing her about dates and changing from a review to an enquiry.
Abbott has abused the parliamentary process since he was elected but since becoming PM he has thrown the rule book out the window in one of his cutting the red tape frenzies and thinks it's his right to absolutely ignore the rules and protocols of democracy.
And speaking of time. He cut her off and refused to allow her question because of time then proceeded to waste 10 minutes rambling on about how it was his right to allocate time for speakers and his right to get his own way. I gather he hates Senator Wong. He and his male counterpart both behaved like sexist pigs.

At least Julie Bishop has a sense of humour
Julie Bishop answers Thermomix question by becoming human emoji
Today Show host Karl Stefanovic had asked Ms Bishop whether she was familiar with a Thermomix, a $2000 appliance billed by its manufacturers as being "the most advanced kitchen appliance on the market today".
The Governor-General's office had put in a request to purchase the kitchen marvel, on Tuesday mystifying several politicians in Senate Estimates who had never heard of the luxury contraption.
Liberal senator Cory Bernardi eventually had to educate his colleagues by describing the appliance as being "very popular amongst the home master chefs of today".
It seems Ms Bishop is among the ignorant.
Stefanovic asked: "Julie Bishop, do you know what a Thermomix is? Two grand for an appliance is a lot of money."
Ms Bishop replied: "I'm going to answer in emoji," before pulling a baffled face and shrugging her shoulders.
The online consensus was that she nailed it.
A good photo here.

she is good value ![]()

“I’m going to answer in emoji,” Ms Bishop replied.
The Foreign Minister then proceeded to mimic the shocked emoji face, followed by laughter.
“That’s why you rock Julie Bishop,” Stefanovic quipped.

Just the type of response would expect from you.
Try engaging in a gear other than backwards and take the post just for what it is, a bit of humour.
