As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Glee
"that the LNP thought IWD not worthy of celebrating "
That is the biggest load of BS I have ever heard.
Considering it was LNP WOMEN.
"It was probably a man who made the booking,"
That's the second biggest lie and piece of BS I have ever seen from you.
And BTW, please note that I don't see Labor doing a whole heap more.
Then again, with an accused rapist at the helm, what do you expect.

I like the way glee accuses abbott of lying but is lying herself.
Talk about double standards, but I suppose that is to be expected.

Tony Abbott appears to have quelled a military backlash by hiking the government's pay offer to defence personnel in the wake of announcing a further planned troop deployment to Iraq.
In another significant policy backflip, the Prime Minister announced on Wednesday the government would retreat on its steadfast vow to hold military personnel's pay increases to 1.5 per cent for each of the next three years.
After standing firm for nearly six months on the below-inflation pay deal – which prompted a flood of angry responses from Australian Defence Force personnel – Mr Abbott buckled on Wednesday, lifting the offer to 2 per cent a year at a cost to taxpayers of about $200 million over four years.
what else he has got to do a 'backflip' on.. is this the start of 'good' govt. realizing that most policies were duds. the next budget should be very interesting indeed
