As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

@am*3 wrote:mm12 - where were you when we had a year or more of Pickering or Bolt articles posted as the opening post with NO links, no mention of source.. presented as if it was written by the poster? Hmmmmm
so where were you MM12??
merely waiting for a thread such as this one??

"Yeah, so fake indignation when objecting to some posts without links and turns a blind eye to more serious, ongoing examples..."
So please, an example or two of the "more serious, ongoing examples." The Bolt/Pickering opening threads/posts would be good also.

Not the forbidden history period and "Treasurer of the Year" D9275 ?
As I have indicated before, Swan had full coffers from Howard, a resources boom, nil competition for the title from OS and still he never managed his so often promised surplus garden.
Repeat:
Courier Mail May 2012
Swan dumps his surplus pledge
History, the bitter aftertaste of a perceived cure (surplus).
The Circus came to town in 2007, and Swan planted the surplus seed in 2010. It turned out to be barren soil in his surplus garden, year after year after year.

oh and Keating won the best treasurer award in 1984 I think it was
in all that time , not one Australian Liberal Party treasurer has been credited with an award
odd isn't it
