As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

There is a thread about the opposition. Why don't you take your posts about Shorten and post them there.

A3: "Before you make bold statements, RESEARCH first, to make sure your reply is correct and not misleading. (Slipper post)."
And when one makes a mistake ADMIT it, just as I did with the (Sipper post)
Before fabricating a post (Abbott/10years) DON'T
When caught-out fabricating a post DON'T make this silly excuse: " it was a test to see if you and others picked it up."

here's one you'll like Am
Maybe their wives didn't tell them: Joe Hockey defends ministers 'double-dipping' on paid parental leave payments
Treasurer Joe Hockey has suggested the wives of senior government ministers may have kept their husbands in the dark about whether or not they "double-dipped" with their paid parental leave entitlements.
And in an extraordinary interview, Mr Hockey has suggested his own wife doesn't always tell him about their household finances but did not say why.

RESEARCH before posting.
Joe should go back to not giving interviews.

So he doesn't balance the 'family budget' then?

Yes, I did like that one I'm a bit behind there. Switched from ipad to computer and doing other things.. like we girls do - multitasking!
I read The Daily Tele article about Hockey and the working people paying the single parents benefits scam talk in a cafe on Sunday afternoon. Then I came home an looked it up that specific article on the net.
As it said it was an 'EXCLUSIVE' to the Daily Tele, I had to quote them.
I haven't read it online for a long time. They want money to read their articles if you go direct to their site!
Actually I only read about 3 pages of the Daily Tele in the cafe... couldn't stand anymore.

There is only one that tells others how to post and what they should and shouldn't do. At least they could follow their own advice.
Research before posting, comes to mind.
Let's not get carried away with early election hype
The early election argument is based on the view that the Coalition will not be able to deliver such a nakedly political budget next year without being exposed as being economically irresponsible.
Abbott will not be able to entertain rushing to the polls until he has demonstrated over a sustained period of time that he can maintain the discipline, cohesion and responsiveness to the concerns of voters he has shown in recent months.
This is a big challenge, but not nearly as big as the one facing Bill Shorten, an opposition leader who is seen by many as having failed to capitalise when the Prime Minister was on the ropes. He no longer has the advantage of facing a government that is its own worst enemy.
The message from voters is that both sides are on notice and the new contest starts now.

Haha I see they're still reading and quoting the daily telegraph...
Read one article in the actual paper (freebie in a cafe) and quoted the online version because Hockey was sprouting nonsense as usual.
Missed bella's post. Thanks for posting that, bella.
Sometimes there are lots of twaddles posts full of irrelevant images, that are scroll by worthy, on topic posts get missed.
