Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

If the answer to the next question is yes, then the answer to the above question will be yes.

Will the government be talking up terrorism and rattling the sabre in the near future?"

A little logic/research produces:

NO  and  NO

According to the Daily Mail  article :

An email sent from Chief of Staff to MP's and senators was leaked  Gosh "leaked"

What form of  watertight security would you expect for an email dispatched to that many recipients?

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has told Labor caucus members the election could be held before parliament resumed on August 10 and they should be prepared.

OK, that means a  House only election, as the earliest possible date for a simultaneous House/half-Senate election is 6 August 2016.
And why would the government call an early election for the "House" only, when it will end up with the same Senate, and when the polls are showing they have no real chance?

As the absolute minimum time for a pre-election period is 33 days (must also end on a Saturday),   when PSA,  do you think this early election will be called?

"be prepared",   I think Harvey Shorten should remain on lay-by, and the Daily Mail brush-up (with others) on parliamentary procedures, and logic!

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

I have never read any of your posts, because of the 6 or 7 fonts used.  It is like a dog's breakfast.  I tried to read this one, but it is simply not worth it.

So if you ever have anything valuable to say, it does not reach me, which I'm sure doesn't bother you at all.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Another OS source (Mashable, Inc.) from New York, better than the Jakarta Post I would suggest, but I like real fishing though, at home!

ASIO can not win. They display an outdated "operational" map  (for media/civilian consumption for the publicity photo shoot), what would one expect a current one?. Then when some not very bright media/ALP/civilians spot some maps  apropos the "terrorist hotspots" in Melbourne (none of which had any security classification), they react as if they have discovered something important and classified. What absolute nonsense.

Gosh, some Melbourne N &NW suburbs showing as "terrorist hotspots" , who would have known/guessed that very "secret" fact?

Melbourne’s most Islamic suburb is Dallas, which went from 38.9 per cent Muslim in 2001 to 45.3 per cent today, an analysis of Census data over a decade shows. Nearby Meadow Heights is 42.1 per cent Muslim, up from 33.9 per cent over the same period. These northern suburb areas have high numbers of Turkish and Iraqi migrants.

Oh really,  who would have deduced the above, and fancy ASIO allowing such "sensitive" information to fall into the hands of a media who promptly alerted all those "hot" terrorists to the fact that their whereabouts has been "blown"

"Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has told Labor caucus members the election could be held before parliament resumed on August 10 and they should be prepared. "

I would suspect that Scouts Australia have absolutely nothing whatsoever to learn from Harvey Shortens perceptivity.

Really? What  exact format would you see this "election"  take, and when?, because  by my calculations Abbott will have to  announce this somewhat extremely unlikely event within the next 8 days in order to make Harvey Shorten's comment,  and a somewhat extemporaneous "translation",  eventuate.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

I do though understand these somewhat new  MYOPS "irelevant" comments/topics, and would suggest that Harvey Shorten  should never have emerged from lay-by,  because whilst  The Killing Season has clearly shown the dysfunction that was the Circus with Poor Me and Rudd, Shorten also possessed a sharp dagger and a forked tongue.

All in all for poor Harvey it certainly has been a septimana horribilis.   Back to lay-by, and quiet for the "hols".

Where is that pesky "imminent" election?
