Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

I wonder how many of those who complained to the ABC didn't even watch the show.

All of the political journalists from Newscorp would have been watching the show.  It would be part of their brief.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Of course they have been joono, every week they run a commentary on it. If I don't like something I just turn the channel

11 metres of articles on the abc from newscorp over the past 2 weeks, you'd think there was no other news to cover

I watched and thought he was a bit of an idiot, the same as the guy that was on insight some time back. It is a shame it got so much attention because a couple of the other panelists had some great input which seems to have gone ignored.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

IF, the name is Cleethorpes, however where accuracy is concerned this session is more than elastic!

QandA has averaged at 927,000 viewers this year. And only 962 complaints

Oops that figures should be 627,000 ( my iPad is playing tricks on me today) Naughty bad iPad.

"not many really is it when you consider the millions of viewers who watch QandA?"
What millions? Where?

"I wonder how many of those who complained to the ABC didn't even watch the show."  I do wonder at that statement

"All of the political journalists from Newscorp would have been watching the show. It would be part of their brief. Of course it would.

So summing up:    of the minimum of 2 million alleged Q & A viewers we take away the naught iPad's 627,000 figure and arrive at 1,373,000 supposed viewers ??????  OK

Obviously the figure of 1.373,000 MIA viewers must be composed of those who "didn't even watch the show" AND "all of the political journalists from Newscorp"    Considering the latter we find that Newscorp has 8,000 staff nationwide and approximately 3,000 journalists, so we will adopt the premise that all 8000 were watching the show,   giving us the figure of 1,365,000 "viewers" who actually did not watch Q & A, some of whom then complained about it.   Without having watched it?

"As at 29 June 2015, 962 complaints had been logged by the ABC about the Q&A on 22 June 2015."....."not many really is it when you consider the millions of viewers " we have covered that "elastic millions" figure but I thought I might add this:

"In 2013-14, commercial free-to-air broadcasters received 2142 complaints under the Code. The vast majority of these complaints were resolved satisfactorily between the complainant and the broadcaster. During the same period, the ACMA made just 4 breach findings under the Code against commercial free-to-air television broadcasters.

Darn it,  I should have posted:"The ABC has reportedly fielded more than 1000 phone complaints over Mallahโ€™s appearance - the most itโ€™s ever received over a single incident but I do not have a recalcitrant iPad.
