As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

staying on the current gov topic of course.

Do you mean other than the mistake wearing the blue tie? That's one huge mistake that Australia made.
1. No justice minister.
2. The huge person in the background, instead of trees.
3. Abbott's head has been bent.
? The pic has been cropped so that the mics are not seen, but that is not a mistake.
Ditto, Her top might well be revealing, but cannot be seen.
What else?

no, that's not what i meant.
if you were shown the 2 pics for the first
time, how would you tell which was fake?

Gosh, in the middle of the ALP/ACTU choreographed talk-fest where, 3 of what I suspect will be part of their election platform programmes have been aired, what do we have for the cathartic MYOPS?, photographs (not one live either).
I do miss the Captain and the original lieutenants, their posts were often so outrageous as to be worth a chuckle or two.
My favourite Minuscule character.

Australia's most powerful gambling lobby donated $20,000 to a fundraising body supporting Abbott government frontbencher Kevin Andrews as he led formulation of the Coalition's industry-backed poker machines policy before the 2013 election.
Clubs NSW, which represents the cashed-up, pokie dominated clubs of NSW, made the donation to the Victorian-based Menzies 200 Club, which is dedicated to supporting Mr Andrews as the local federal member for Menzies in Melbourne's east, and the Liberal party.
While the lobby declared the donation to electoral authorities, it nominated the Victorian Liberal Party as the recipient, which blurred the link to Mr Andrews. The Menzies 200 Club did declare the donation.
But the Menzies 200 Club failed to declare another $10,000 donation from Clubs NSW, made in June last year, for eight months after the deadline set by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC)

Treasurer Joe Hockey has offered a lukewarm defence of the current system of political donations but warned the public they will end up paying for political parties to bombard them with election propaganda if private donations are curbed.
Labor's spokesman Gary Gray moved a resolution at the party's conference on the weekend calling for greater transparency in political donations.
Labor wants the disclosure threshold reduced from $13,000 to $1000. The ALP voluntarily discloses all donations above $1000 even though it is not obliged to do so.
Mr Gray also wants real time reporting of political donations so voters can be aware of when powerful interests donate cash to parties and the timing of policy formulation.
"I call on the government to work with Labor to improve the integrity of our political donations system," Mr Gray said.
"The government needs to work with Labor on this issue. All political parties receive private donations and all political parties must take responsibility for reform".

I have "missed" the C&P sans comments, I do understand how easy it is though.
UNIONS including the militant CFMEU donated more than $1.6 million to the Victorian Labor Party as it prepared to battle the Coalition in last year’s state election.
Victorian Labor received hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations from unions including the CFMEU, NUW, AWU and SDA.
At the same time businesses, big tobacco and gaming giants donated to the Liberal Party.
The CFMEU’s Victorian construction division — headed by Secretary John Setka — gave Labor $139,350.
On top of this the national office of the CFMEU gave Labor $195,000.
ABC 4 Feb 2014,
"The Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU), which is facing allegations of links to the criminal underworld, donated substantially to Labor Party branches across Australia."
You would think that the ALP/ACTU would have noticed that if you "milk" union members funds for your election expenses like Thomson did (and extracurricular unions) you do not have to declare them to the AEC.
However rather than accepting $-largesse from gaming companies, Poor Me handed out some of her own with a forked tongue promise to Wilkie to obtain his support, which she quickly reneged upon after luring Slipper into the paddock.
Indeed , Clubs NSW, which represents the cashed-up, pokie dominated clubs of NSW, certainly did contribute funds (to both parties), but Gillard sold her soul to Clubs NSW when she reneged upon her written agreement with Wilkie.
