Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Organised by the Liberal Party on behalf of the Bar Association of NSW , not as a fundraiser FOR the Liberal Party , as the invitation clearly states .

You might like to listen again to the Abbott responses for accuracy .

Then again perhaps not

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Mr Heydon was listed as the keynote speaker at the Sir Garfield Barwick Address on August 26 at the Castlereagh Boutique Hotel in Sydney.

An invitation written on a Liberal Party letterhead obtained by Fairfax Media says the $80 cost should be made to the Liberal Party of Australia's NSW division. It also calls for donations if people are unable to attend.

oh really??

http://www.skynews.com.au/news/politics/national/2015/08/13/brandis-claims-to-attend-liberal-fundrai...

Attorney-General George Brandis claimed over $1000 in taxpayer expenses to attend a Liberal Party fundraiser in 2010.

When he was shadow attorney-general, Senator Brandis delivered the inaugural Sir Garfield Barwick address in Sydney on June 28, 2010.

The funds from the $90-a-head function were payable to the Liberal Party's NSW division.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Don't worry watta, I've ben doing my research...... It is possible that the judge wasn't aware that it was a fundraiser, however he has now been put in a position where he can be "perceived to be biased" so he may have to step down.

apparantly it is a function that is well known in NSW to be an LNP fundraiser

the fault lies with the NSW LNP  in asking the head of the royal commission to speak at their dinner.... But then he did agree to do it until  the story broke this morning

the invitations with his picture on them came out  on 14th April 2014

however it makes that bizarre outburst on Shorten's credibility and his way of answering questions at TURC look a bit suss

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

Why does it say that all donation over $12,100 have to be reported to the Electoral Commission if it wasn't a party fundraiser?
