Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

It's odd because as a treasurer, how come most of his tweets (until this week)  showed him eating at a pizzeria or small ethnic food restaurant.

The small businesses he was trying to support.  Today he said that the Libs had created 300,000 new jobs.

Really?  Jobs are harder to get now, so much harder.

"Im pretty sure abbott even hired the AFP to find out who his cabinet leaks were. will look for the article later "

The executive do not "hire" the AFP,  they instruct them as to their duties (within the exigencies of the law).

At least a search is an improvement upon: " I remember them very well so not neccessary for me to search for them.".

As for Abbott utilising the AFP expertise,  you could hardly blame him,  as the AFP had some experience as political plumbers when the ALP Circus was in town!

It's the Lib Circus now 🙂 Moderate Mal still has the hard right faction to contend with.Remember,5 votes the other way and it's even stevens.Let's see if Mal is ready to tackle climate change, same sex marriage, the lengthy stays of detainees in Nauru etc.our flawed commitment to bombing raids in Syria or is he going to support current policies, in which case he might as well have left Tony in the chair.

He does say it's a new world.  Different problems to deal with, something that Abbott was never willing to do.

They seemed to have 'hired' the AFP when they were doing a number on Dr Haneef.
