As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Oh no unlike others,,I don't ever go searching to prove or disprove anyone Most of the articles I post here are ones that come through on my twitter feed... There was quite a lot of discussion about Peter dutton's interview last night. I am glad though that I read your post this morning. I learnt quite a lot from it ๐

"More lifeguards will also be appointed. as swimming and other water sports are popular with refugee families, particularly at the local boat harbour.'
"fantasy island from the daily Telegraph"
NOT the DT
my version was from the ABC HERE (NOT THE DT) or if you prefer the more cumbersome method:
2 days old, down near the bottom.
What are the ABC up to?
PS
I have formed the opinion that some can not differentiate between asylum seekers and refugees, also being "locked up" and frolicking at the local boat harbour whilst "swimming and indulging in other water sports"

this guy gets around
A reply was received from the Nauruan governmentโs Australian public relations agent, Lyall Mercer.
Lyall Mercer who is a PR agent for Hillsong says that Brian Houston has issued a statement saying โNot true that Justin Bieber has qualified to be lay preacher or plans by Hillsong to rush him onto our platform.โ

D9275: "yep, you're right. here's the list"
I kept that, as I was so surprised that I had been shown to be correct by a genuine search from an eclectic archive of documents, speeches, data and assorted information. Not a C&P from a media source
Definitive statements can bite if they do not stand up to scrutiny. Use qualifications ie:
"I normally don't ever go searching to prove or disprove anyone"

Exactly as I said previously that information came through in my Twitter feed a couple of days ago
curious isn't it?
though I didn't trawl the Internet to see if he's still the Qld LNP PR man
i can see the ties to the former immigration minister though ๐

"Yes,we certainly deserve a seat on the UN Human Rights committee.Take a bow,Austraya."
M1C , would your link be from the same Burnside who in his fervour to advocate on behalf of the "boat people" cause forgot what constituted piracy?
However the article does say: "This concentrates only on the negative aspects," because as hard as I looked I did not notice a reference to the fact that the Pacific Solution is subject to bipartisan support, is supported by a majority of the Australian electorate. and not a single mention of the "swimming and other water sports which are popular with refugee families, particularly at the local Nauruan boat harbour"
"Yes,we certainly deserve a seat on the UN Human Rights committee.Take a bow,Austraya."
That would be the same UNHRC that once elected the Libyan ambassador Najat al-Hajjaji its president?
