As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

What the new Australian citizenship test says about Malcolm Turnbull's leadership
he really needs some new spin doctors
after yesterdays repeating of "Jobs For Australians" Ad Nauseium.
Today in his anouncement of the "New Malcolm Citizen Test MK1" speach he said the words "Australia or Australians" 59 times!
He must be stupid not to realise you can over do the slogans.

I know, your asking "But malcolm, wouldnt the pipeline cost billions of dollars?"
of course it would but mr turnbull, the guy who practically invented the internet (and we all know how well his NBN project is going dont we) has a cheaper faster better plan than those heavy metal pipes.
Used toilet rolls!
its so enviromentally sound, he will set up collection points in coles supermarkets. in no time at all that cardboard pipeline will be bringing lovely gas to sydney.

Dutton says, Manus Island shooting may be related to alleged incident involving local 5yo
Obviously mr duttons spin doctors are better than malcolms, to come up with a fictional 5yo being lured into peril by those dastardly asylum seekers, now that took some thinking outside the box.
dont worry about the fact theres no evidence, just say it and most people will believe it.
yes, the evil doers should be shot! no need to involve police or worry about who gets shot, just shoot sombody!
btw, havent heard anything from our govt about the safety of the aussies working there who had to take cover for their lives!

This mob thrive on repetition and their little, often meaningless, catch phrases. They must get together and decide what the phrase of the day will be. It's not unusual to have 3 or 4 ministers, interviewed on a given day, echoing each other almost word for word.
I watched Fiona Nash speaking at the Press Club yesterday (I know, I seriously need to get a life ). She must have said "our leader Barnaby.." at least a dozen times. I thought the gushing tone was a bit odd but then spotted the great man in the audience. Fiona has ditched the ever-present string of pearls. An image makeover perhaps? She's one of the people now!
Malcolm has eschewed the Abbott technique of saying the same thing three times in the same sentence. His repetition, as ably pointed out above, is more spread out. I've noticed he's absolutely in love with the word "ensure". Can't get enough of it. Has to slip it in at every opportunity.
There's something intensely irritating about listening to a Turnbull interview or speech. I think it's because it always has the tone of a lecture. It's always Malcolm delivering the sacred truths from the mountain top. He's never wrong and Labor is never right. It's astounding how sincere he can appear to be when totally contradicting some point of view or statement from his past.
