Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

It's good to see the government concentrating on the big issues, exemplified by the official release of a Morrison family photo. Note the poorly executed photoshop job, replacing the pm's somewhat grubby runners with nice shiny new ones.

I wish they would photoshop his kids out of official engagements...they are dragged into everything even when it is not really appropriate.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

poiticians from all sides use anything and everything to get you to like them enough to forgive all the lies they tell and still vote for them.

this guy like many other presents as a good church going believe in god and do no harm to others type but his behaviour as a politician makes all that look like a big fat lie.

the only one he truly cares for is sco-mo, everyone and ever thing else comes after.

look at they way he talks about bill shorten, then hes shaking the guys hand and wishing him and his family a lovely christmas!

c'mon, the guy actually hates bill with a passion, personally, not just as a political oponant.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

If he thinks that by dragging his kids into every official engagement is going to make people like him then he is sadly mistaken.

There must be many voters like me who want to see our Prime Minister acting like the leader of the country, not just a doting dad taking his kids on an outing.

The two engagements that spring to mind are the Invictus Games ceremonies and the Wreath Laying ceremony on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Re: Diary of our stinking Govt.

i think most agree we are at the moment faced with a drought of political leaders that anyone believes in any more.

both major partys have hired and fired leaders looking to find one the people like without luck.

i expect bill will be our next PM not because the people like him but because they hate the libs and scomo more.

the 2 partys are almost carbon copies of each other as far as policys go, so it comes down to who you dislike the least.

then again we have created this mess by not allowing either side to introduce policies by electing hung parliments.

why, because the 2 times we did give one side or the other control in recent times they screwed it up and us with it.

rudd and abbott.
