As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

LOL, dream on, dream on.
Anyone who lies AND doesn't back up with facts or answers the question automatically loses.
Winners, losers, and those who never stand a chance

"Lost ANY argument if you have to deflect to Shorten's distant past" Really, "lost" you say A3 ?
Would it be like this sort of distant past A3?
" He hasn't been in the area he was in the last couple of days for 10 years.."
Which was, apropos Abbott visiting Anglesea in the ultra-marginal Victorian seat of Corangamite, completely untrue.
I have often written that in a debate, if you descend to untruths, lack of research, and/or exaggerations within a definitive statement, your post and subsequent posts will be viewed as (possibly) "tainted" (codswallop).
However, my sentiment above is far better expressed by Descartes:
"It is only prudent never to place complete confidence in that by which we have even once been deceived."

It’s a measure of just how poor the economy is at the moment that the latest GDP figures released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which saw the economy grow by a mere 0.5% in seasonally adjusted terms in the December quarter, were pretty much right in the middle of market expectations

Oops, nothing. It means nothing other than that the link was selected. As it happens it was selected by accident as the screen was moving. It's not the first and doubt it will be the last time that happens.
If the accusation was that I reported inappropriate content you can rest assued I did not. I would much prefer it to say for all to see the bully boy tactics.

OK... back on topic
Intergenerational Report: Dole, disability spending to drop regardless of Abbott government spending crackdown
Spending on the dole and disability support pension is on track to drop over the next forty years, even if the government's harsh budget measures like the six month Newstart wait for under 30s are not implemented, according to Treasury projections.
