Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

In this conversation, Windsor implies that Joyce has "been given permision" to seemingly oppose this mine in order to stay onside with his constituents and soften the government's stance.

I read about BJ's FB comments, and the first thing I thought was that it was fake outrage, so that wouldn't surprise me.

What a joke. This from the man who sold his farm to Whitehaven Coal back in 2011!

"Whitehaven Coal was given approval to expand its Werris Creek Mine, increasing the life of the mine by up to 20 years and ramping up the rate of mining by 25 per cent, or 500,000 tonnes a year.

Mr Windsor sold his adjacent family farm, Cintra, to Whitehaven in February last year for $4.625 million and now leases it back from the miner.

While seemingly content to allow his land to be torn up for coal, Mr Windsor has seized on coal-seam gas as an environmental evil which could also save his political skin."

"Earlier this year [2011], Mr Windsor spent almost $5.9m buying three properties in Coonamble, about 100km west of Gunnedah, all understood to be within a CSG exploration region.

Now he's considering a political comeback after Greg Hunt approved the Shenhua Coamine expansion?

What a hypocrite!

Probably sniffing out big $$$ to sell the properties that he bought up in Coonamble back in 2011. The ones "understood to be within a CSG exploration region".

Get real.

Does  that mean you didn't bother listening to the interview?

He has stated on numerous occasions that he is not against mining. He's against mining inappropriate places and he considers the Breeza PLains inappropriate because it's prime agricultural land and because of the potential damage to the water supply.

And what do you think his properties in Coonamble are?

"It's beautiful soil and any good soil on significant-sized blocks is improving in value," he [Tony Windsor] said."

Still a hypocrite with the hide to criticise Barnaby Joyce.

"crisis"  In what form do we have a "crisis"?

2008-2009 was the GFC,  but in reality where the ASX/dividends were concerned,  it was of small import.

A quick check of ther Jakarta Post shows  that the

Composite Index (^JKSE)-Jakarta
4,844.74 Down26.83(0.55%) 12:26PM AEST

However, since 2009 the JKSE has risen 400%

"CRISIS" ?  I know, we can dig out Wayne "I promise you a surplus garden" Swan,  and he can save us from this "CRISIS"

what on earth has the JKSE got to do with us??

I'm sure you would know that I was referring, to the crash in our biggest trading partner ( but obviously you're playing the usual games)

how weird it this today... govt. buying??

Swan?? unfortunately no such luck, all we  have is the old ex treasurer Costello stepping in for his absent friends ( all 3 of them)

oh and BTW it wasn't Swan who gave us the GFC as is well known and understood by most around the world  Smiley Happy
