Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

And the latest good news.

A Fairfax-Ipsos poll reveals the Abbott government's primary support has dipped to 38 per cent, just two points above Labor's 36 per cent, while the Greens are on 16 per cent.
On the two-party preferred, the Coalition is trailing Labor by 46 to 54 per cent.- See more at: http://www.skynews.com.au/news/top-stories/2015/08/17/turnbull-cements-poll-lead-over-abbott.html#st...

Seems like the Dyaon Heydon connection goes back a way.The head of the RC was on the panel that awarded that towering intellect the Rhodes Scholarship.

The ALP/ACTU are really trying hard to avoid  scrutiny of the murkier aspects of the trade union movement. The standard is: if there is nothing to hide why complain.

It would appear that if "they" can not shut down the RC there are some well practised alternatives:

A third volume, detailing serious criminal matters, is not open to the public to protect the individuals’ named in the report. It was found that a significant proportion of the evidence could not be released due to threats made to witnesses and their families.

"The report found there was no case to be made against former Prime Minister Julia Gillard, who unknowingly helped set up a union slush fund in the 1990s."

If it was a full judicial process there might be a very desperate case for the unions to avoid investigation,  but any further outcomes MUST proceed via the DPP and full legal process, wherein the poor misunderstood. unions(ists) can argue their case in a court of law. The CFMEU are well versed in that !

For those interested in the RC interim report  READ.

Gosh over 30 years ago, the cunning plot goes back a fair old time,  I wonder how he persuaded the other 6 on the selection panel and why much earlier Hawke and Beazley "snuck in"?

"towering intellect ", perhaps not,  but with Poor Me's basic dual degree that would make her a  lowered intellect in comparison ?
