As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

ref. am3: What 'bias' is Prof Disney (cool surname) supposed to have?
.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................
“If you think about it the press council has four basic principles, number one is the freedom of the press and the council has gone missing in recent times on some very important issues.”....
A spokesman for the council would not say which two News Corp publications had complained about bias.........
so if the publications have not been named then how the ba-jeepers are we supposed to know on which issues etc.....reckon Disney is older than those who can say what they like-he is old enough to DO what helikes IMO and he is NOT going to be bullied or take carp from anybody....so he has just said 'No'. Good on him

am I have no idea but its scary how much influence one group of newspapers have to make a complaint like that. I wonder if its about the boston bombing pic or something related to it?
on 24-08-2014 09:51 AM

well paints, in that article it says that the press council have received 2 complaints relating to newscorp papers and newscorp don't want Disney involved in making a decision on it ( though it doesn't say what the complaints are)
on 24-08-2014 09:57 AM
apparently does not even state which publications are involved either.....so it is all innuendo and rumour then?
on 24-08-2014 09:59 AM
it was just a guess on my part paints, really it could be any number of things
on 24-08-2014 01:22 PM
