As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

aps - you CLAIMED those jobs are full time, permanent jobs - not up to me to prove that. If you assert that is true, then you must have the source of the information which makes you claim that ready at hand which you can post here.
Otherwise I assume your statement is not correct.
34 000 jobs created (not verified here as being permanent full time) doesn't cut it when 500 000+ people are unemployed and looking for full time work.

I can't see your emoticons debra, on laptop (chrome), only small empty box frames. They don't appear in polks posts for me either.
BOTTOM LINE, for the 500 000+ unemployed wanting full time permanent work:
Job advertisements rose for a seventh straight month in December, but are not translating into lower unemployment as job losses also remain high.
ANZ's chief economist Warren Hogan said that is probably due to a combination of strong immigration flows and significant job losses in some sectors.
"In all likelihood, this divergence can be explained by a higher than usual rate of job losses in the economy," he noted in the report.

If you want to C&P text on the ipad (in desktop site), just select the text you want to copy( hold finger done on it and adjust it to what you want to include, from an online news story or a previous post etc) and click on 'copy' that pops up. Then in a new post, press finger on screen until 'paste' pops up in a black speech bubble and hit that.
I checked your emoticons out on my ipad, so still got to see them!. Not sure what polks is posting with ipad/computer and what browser she uses as she could see them.

"22 hours ago! Still FRESH news compared to 2006 news (from mm). And it relates to a CURRENT MP."
Finnigan is now charged with one count of obtaining access to child pornography, and one count of attempting to access child pornography.
He will stand trial in April 2015. CURRENT news, and a CURRENT MP.
However, as it appears inconvenient pink history should be redacted according to party lines, and ALP MPs malfeasance should be subject to outraged censorship, perhaps the associated criteria could be posted in order that myopic sensibilities are not affronted (if of course anybody cares).
Sorry it is not BIG sized, almost Minuscule in fact.
