As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Lets tell the HRW to get effed and shove their report where the sun don't shine because no one listens to them.
Lefty wonker do gooders who like telling everyone else what to do.
They can pay for it but no, as soon as you try to extract money from them, they wilt away.
As I said, I would have used the Tigers and stopped the boats as they left Indonesia.
That would have caused a few reports to be written !
"you don't have to pay."
Yes, we noticed that, "free" education / degree !

Mr Abbott responded by praising his "strong colleagues" and "strong team" but said they benefited from his leadership.
Mr Abbott says if he went into a pub patrons would tell him his decision to honour Prince Philip with an Australian knighthood was a "stuff-up". Photo: Reuters
"One of the reasons why so many members of the team are able to perform so well is because they have got a very good captain," he told reporters.
"It takes a good captain to help all the players of a team to excel," he said.
what an arrogant fool,

Australia under the spotlight in Human Rights Watch World Report 2015
Australia shamed in human rights report
AUSTRALIA has been named and shamed on a list of the world’s worst human rights offenders — but it’s not just our treatment of indigenous people and asylum seekers that has landed us there.
Sharing the dubious honours with the likes of Syria, Nigeria and Egypt, we have made the cut for reasons you might not expect.
According to Human Rights Watch’s World Report 2015, our counterterrorism laws — hastily introduced by the Abbott government last year — have been slammed as “vague” and “over-broad” in the damning report, infringing on the basic rights of all Australians.
In response to the threat of home-grown terrorism, new laws extend to the use of control orders and preventive detention and also make it a criminal offence to travel to “declared areas’’ abroad, which overly restricts people’s freedom of movement, the report states
Am, who would've ever thought that our great country would be included in that list. It's shameful really.
