As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

I always think of these soldiers whenever USA and Iraq is mentioned.

"More waste of public money. Next the new building will be half empty because Abbott Govt's massive public service job cuts"
"That is not having a go at the public servants, as was the accusation."
Let me explain G58 " More waste of public money " means, within the post, that the Dept. of Finance are wasting public money. There are 1806 of them (13-14) within the "Department" , all Public Servants.

Did you appreciate this, in your C&P ?
"Coalition and Labor politicians on the committee, which will hand a report to parliament, were unconvinced Finance's impending move represented value for money.
Gosh A3, you have decided to have a go at the Public Sevice now (Treasury) ? Canberra is a union bastion city !!!!
NO. That is your spin.
Current Govt waste... there have been other articles posted here in the past about Govt paying leases for empty buildings... recent one about new lease was signed when the building was about to be vacated as staff are moving to a new building.
......................were unconvinced Finance's impending move represented value for money = Waste of public funds
p.s (general comment). I don't hate anyone by the way.Such a childish way to communicate accusing others of hate etc.

Coalition elder statesman Philip Ruddock axed as Chief Whip following Liberal Party spill attempt
Tony Abbott's Chief Whip, Philip Ruddock, has been removed in the wake of Tony Abboott's near-death-experience in a spill attempt earlier this week.
He will be replaced by Queensland LNP MP Scott Buchholz.
The dramatic development appears to be part of the continuing fall-out from that ballot after eyebrows were raised when Mr Abbott's camp underestimated the pro-spill forces at 16 to 18 votes only to find they had more than twice that at 39. In the end, the Prime Minister survived that proposed spill by an uncomfortably close margin of just a dozen votes.
Abbott loyalists questioned Mr Ruddock's energy levels with some muttering darkly that he should have possessed a better understanding of the numbers and perhaps been more active in protecting the Prime Minister among tetchy backbenchers.
Mr Ruddock, a former New South Wales moderate who became a Howard government hero among conservatives for his role as a tough immigration minister, is the "father of the house" meaning he is the longest serving lower house MP in Canberra.
He has been a close ally of Mr Abbott and travelled with him for five weeks as an adviser during the 2013 election campaign.

Dirty tricks
Revealed: Abbott government tried to remove Gillian Triggs as head of the Australian Human Rights Commission
The Abbott government sought the resignation of the president of the Australian Human Rights Commission Gillian Triggs two weeks before it launched an extraordinary attack on the commission over its report on children in immigration detention.
The request was conveyed orally by an official on behalf of Attorney-General senator George Brandis. It was rejected outright by Professor Triggs, who saw it as an attack on the independence and integrity of the commission and herself.
Fairfax Media understands that no grounds were given for seeking Professor Triggs' resignation and that she was told "some other opportunity" would be available to her if she resigned.
Professor Triggs, a former barrister and academic, was appointed president of the commission in July 2012 for a fixed five-year term that is intended to protect the president from political interference.
She can be sacked for bankruptcy or serious misconduct.
The approach came a fortnight before the government tabled late on Wednesday the commission's The Forgotten Children report calling for a royal commission into the detention of children under Labor and Coalition governments since 1992.

Facts are facts, nothing to do with twisting. Who are you trying to convince??. I am sure Monman can form his own opinions.
Abbott is the PM, himself and his current Govt are going to attract criticism.. time to accept that and move on and not put your own spin on others comments re hate etc.. that is all false.
