As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

You do realize there is also a difference between the current govt and the old one?
Did you notice this thread is about this govt?
Why not start a thread about the previous minority govt or a previous Labor govt to discuss their time in office?
Btw, Rudd and Gillard both lasted longer than Abbott before a leadership vote was taken.

What matters is how many people are unemployed = how many need to get the dole to survive, while they cannot pay their mortgage ... etc.
The LNP is destroying jobs at faster rates than new jobs are created, and we are in danger of losing AAA rating, which we never were while he ALP was in power. The ALP kept low unemployment, low interest rates and slow steady growth, while the whole world was in great trouble. Now as the rest of the world is improving, we are going the opposite direction.

And oxy morons have the gall to call a waste of money. Paying for higher education for people who have no intention to use it or pay for it is a Huge waste. Plenty of examples and admissions on the internet.
"oxy morons" ? I cannot find the post you are replying to so do not quite get the meaning of the 1st sentence.
Educating people is never waste of money, we need educated population to compete in increasingly technologically advanced world. Our survival depends on solving technological problems. Nobody goes to Uni, spends 4+ years surviving on amount that leaves almost nothing for food after rent is paid, and then decide not use their qualifications. Some people might finding difficult to get a job in their profession, they might do other jobs, but that does not mean that their education was wasted.

In this instance oxy moron is used in a name calling sense. I did wonder if the poster knows what the word meant. It's the first time I've seen it used as an attack label.

Some do as you say. I will try to find the posts from somewhere else where they said that.
The post was to mon and others, hence why I worded it like I did. They know what I was talking about.
and that is a perfect example of why people shouldn't say too much about themselves as others will use personal information against them

At last the difference between job creation and unemployment might be understood.
It will be of interest to note the Circus days of less than wine and roses apropos the variation in unemployment during their tenure. (I mention the Keating era figures though, 10%+)
G58: "You do realize there is also a difference between the current govt and the old one?. Yes, as did the Australian electorate!
"Btw, Rudd and Gillard both lasted longer than Abbott before a leadership vote was taken." Which they both lost!
