Diary of our stinking Govt.

As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed.  The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.Woman Happy

This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.

and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says

The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.

Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).

But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.

"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

That is in the PAST... Abbott and Hockey are here now! (but they won't still be here in a few years!)

This thread is about our current Govt and their actions.

Why don't we blame John Howard for not doing better and winning his last election, if he won that election, Rudd wouldn't have been PM, nor Gillard?? See how silly that is?

"What has that got to do with today's Govt and how they operate (current events)?  Do you get tired of posting that sort of stuff all the time,  because we get tired of reading the same old repeated out of date stuff?
The title of this thread says ... Diary of our.... Govt.... not what happened pre Sept 2013."

I agree to a degree AM3,  but the author of this thread (if you bother to check) has frequently  mentioned pre Sept 2013 events  regarding Abbott when it suits him, (C&P obviously)  e.g.:
At university he kicked in a glass panel door when defeated in an election.
Referred to a woman Chairperson as “Chairthing”
He was accused of assaulting a woman at University, and later acquitted. He was defended by a QC and the girl defended herself.
Another woman accuses him of throwing punches at her. And hitting either side of a wall she was standing against. He says it never happened but others corroborate her story.
He threatened to punch the head in of Lindsay Foyle who disagreed with him on a woman’s right to an abortion.
In 1978 a young teacher by the name of Peter Woof bought assault charges against Abbott. Abbott had punched him in the face. The charges never went anywhere. Abbott was represented by a legal team of six and the young man could not afford to defend himself.
And he did punch out Joe Hockey’s lights during a rugby match.
He established a slush fund to bring down Pauline Hansen and then lied about its existence.

"pre Sept 2013" ?, from the OP BIG author ????   Obviously a different  Cycloptic calender in use there, because  by my calender  the oldest reference within this thread is  at least 37 years old.

What about the knife acts on the state premiers? Why do those Libs never rate a mention when it's open season on knifers?

It's treated as if Gillard was the first and only leader to be installed between elections.

The knives have been well and truly out and sharpened & in the backs amongst certain members of the Vic LNP govt. since the last state election. Was that before the Rudd/Gillard show? Maybe if was, I can't remember.Of course it happens on both sides of the political fence, anyone who says otherwise is wearing rose coloured glasses

OK, I mentioned Sept 2013, only because that is when the Abbott Govt was formed, not meaning anything to do with Abbott, the CURRENT PM and his MP's shouldn't be mentioned before that date.

If others want to talk about the past re Gillard and Rudd, they can start as many threads as they like to do so. Some posters already do that.

It has a lot to do with today's Govt, because if it hadn't been for the Rudd Gillard double act of dissention putting the voters off Labor, we may have had an entirely different Govt at the helm.

So we can thank the previous government that we have to put up with all the hysterical gibbering going on here about Mr Abbott for the next few years.

or we could just read the hysterical blahblahblahblahblahblah of the lickspittle LNP cheer squad.....

Since Gillard supposedly single handedly knifed Rudd (and all the other elected Labor members) there have been 2 LNP Premiers "knifed".  Where is the concern for them and those who voted for them?

Is it because she was a she or because she was a Labor she?

excellent article exposing hockeys lie......

Hockey said that the number of Australians between 65 and 84 would “quadruple” by 2050 but on the ABS’s high-growth projection (they do high, middle and low) there will be 2½ times as many people in this age group by 2050 than there were in 2010.

Hockey said “the percentage of people of working age supporting those over 65 will almost halve”. Using ABS projections, the proportion of people “of working age” (defined by the statistician as 15 to 64) was about 67 per cent of the population in 2010 and will be 63 per cent in 2050. (This figure is based on the ABS’s middle projections.)

Hockey predicted that only 37 per cent of the population would be of working age in 2050, yet the best available estimates from the ABS show it is in fact is between 61 and 63 per cent.  Even if age-employment ratios stay as they are now, if productivity keeps rising at its present rate, average wages will rise by 56 per cent over that time. So those in full-time employment will be better able to provide support and services to the rest of the community

setting up voice recognition technology to save money on staff and 45 seconds per call for customers who phone the agency.

I am sure that will improve things for taxpayers/businesses phoning the ATO with help queries... not.

Save money - yes    Better for taxpayers seeking help - no, a backward step.
