As it's more than 100 days now, it has been suggested that a new thread was needed. The current govt has been breaking promises and telling lies at a rate so fast it's hard to keep up.
This below is worrying, "independent" pffft, as if your own doctor is somehow what? biased, it's ridiculous. So far there is talk of only including people under a certain age 30-35, for now. Remember that if your injured in a car, injured at work or get ill, you too might need to go on the DSP. They have done a similar think in the UK with devastating consequences.
and this is the 2nd time recently where the Govt has referred to work as welfare???? So when you go to work tomorrow (or tuesday), just remember that's welfare.

Independent doctors could be called in to reassess disability pensioners, Federal Government says
The Federal Government is considering using independent doctors to examine disability pensioners and assess whether they should continue to receive payments.
Currently family doctors provide reports supporting claims for the Disability Support Pension (DSP).
But Social Services Minister Kevin Andrews is considering a measure that would see independent doctors reassess eligibility.
"We are concerned that where people can work, the best form of welfare is work," Mr Andrews said at a press conference.

Yes, that would be good.
Then we can raid their houses and bust them all and throw them in jail.
Or at least stop them consorting

COALITION IN CHAOS
Christopher Pyne 'hopes' Tony Abbott still has the numbers, ministerial support drifts away from Prime Minister
Senior cabinet minister Christopher Pyne is unable to guarantee Tony Abbott will still be leader next week, only saying he 'hopes' the Prime Minister still has the numbers in the party room.
Mr Pyne also said he could not rule out a leadership spill next Tuesday when MPs meet for the first time since moves began within the Liberal Party to oust Mr Abbott from office.
Appearing on Nine Today program with Labor frontbencher Anthony Albanese on Friday morning, Mr Pyne was asked if Mr Abbott still has the numbers.
"That's a very inexact science, I hope he does, yes," Mr Pyne said.
Mr Pyne, who described himself as a "strong supporter" of the Prime Minister, is the first cabinet minister to express doubts about the future of Mr Abbott's leadership.

Nothing positive about the Abbott Govt.. Wrong thread for general chit chat and 'sunshine & roses' posts.
Denial about TA, until the spill happens?
Tony Abbott's errors have cost him support of his colleague
Leaders can weather periods of unpopularity, as long as they enjoy the respect of their colleagues. Tony Abbott has lost both.
How did it come to this? In the space of just 17 months, the sober mature government promised by the Coalition since 2010 has descended into farcical levels of uncertainty, suspicion, and back-biting.
And a prime minister who was never particularly well-liked, has become ground zero of a ferocious backlash against harsh policies and personal frolics embraced as if he had limitless political capital.

Mr Abbott said he was the father of three daughters, a volunteer firefighter and a surf lifesaver before declaring, "most of all I am the Prime Minister of our country and I am spending every ounce of energy, I am dedicating every fibre of my being to ensure this country flourishes".
