I find it interesting that some find it so easy to unquestioningly believe that the whole picture is bleak
and even more interesting or rather curious if they may also be the same people that don't recognise or accept where the real needs do actually exist ?
I'm reading Call the Midwife at the moment.A widow had only just managed to feed herself and her 5 children by working in a factory and sewing with her 10yr old at night. In a factory accident a machine had cut deeply into her arm.She couldn't afford to have anyone stitch her wounded arm.She could not work. She sold everything they had to survive including blankets ,clothing, her teeth and her hair ...eventually she asked for some financial relief and was told she was lazy and lacked motivation ,when she showed them her arm she was told she was being impertinent .In the end after her baby died of starvation and not being able to afford a burial she buried him in a river, then knowing that it had come to the worst, that she had no other option she took herself and her remaining children to the dreaded workhouse, knowing that she would never see her children again .That they would be separated and knowing the reality of workhouses. It's a shocking, sad real life story from the past.
People told her she was lazy ?

You aren't wrong there Freaki :^O
Some info I have read in the past suggests that people prefer to read and hear bad news stories rather than the uplifting ones .Suggesting that it is a human condition and we drive that supply.

Do Australians struggle to realise their Good Fortune ?
I don't...maybe because I'm in a position to know the difference..
