Abbott and Hockey have a real hide. they are not going to release any details on their budget costings (again)
is this right ? '' Buy this, but i won't name a price or tell you what it is or what it does. '' he's tripping.
Abbott says voters can do the maths on cost of election promises
The Coalition has fended off Labor attacks over its decision not to commit to its own budget bottom line when it releases its policy costings, with Opposition Leader Tony Abbott saying voters will be "able to do the arithmetic".
Opposition treasury spokesman Joe Hockey has again confirmed the Coalition will not provide a final budget figure because he does not trust the Treasury numbers used by the Government.
Mr Abbott has confirmed the Opposition will not release a final figure.
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has described it as a "stunning development" and says it is "unacceptable in a democracy".

Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has described it as a "stunning development".
"Warts and all, we've put our bottom line out there with the economic statement last week," Mr Rudd told constituents at a candidates forum in his Brisbane-based seat of Griffith this morning.
"What we'll spend, what we'll save, what the bottom line is, when we'll come back to surplus, it's there.
"The stunning development in the past few days has been Mr Abbott's treasury spokesman saying that in this election campaign the Liberal Party will not put forward its own budget bottom line. That is unacceptable in a democracy.
"I had to do it in 2007. Everyone before us has had to do that.
"Is Mr Abbott simply trying to run away from where the $70 billion will be cut in basic services, in health, education, in jobs?

that's a good sign ...not
remember the pensioner's power bill produced to show huge increase in cost as a result of the Carbon Tax ?
stating that the $800/70% increase was due to the tax.
thankfully it was handed to our PM who pointed out that the huge increase was due,not to the carbon tax (which on that bill was actually less than the forecast 10%) ..but to a huge increase in power usage

Tony Abbott: ‘What the housewives of Australia need to understand as they do the ironing is that if they get it done commercially it’s going to go up in price and their own power bills when they switch the iron on are going to go up, every year…’
It'd be funny if it wasn't so important

and he has also told us
Tony Abbott: ‘What the housewives of Australia need to understand as they do the ironing is that if they get it done commercially it’s going to go up in price and their own power bills when they switch the iron on are going to go up, every year…’
derr Mr Abbott
and he has shown that he (and those who viewed that power bill before it being presented in Parliament with stupid claims) that he/they don't understand power bills and failed to do that arithmetic themselves ...on such a basic thing !
...and now he expects me to be able to understand so much that I can do the costings on their POLICIES myself and/or have blind faith in their Arithmetic ????? yeah right lol

"What we'll spend, what we'll save, what the bottom line is, when we'll come back to surplus, it's there."
You mean the surplus that was forecast/promised/ many many times that became a 12 billion deficit, which has now became a 30 billion forecast deficit.?
I agree that Coalition costings would be good, not that those baying for it here would take much notice, or even consider changing their political allegiances if any were forthcoming even with a cherry on top, but how can one produce meaningful costings when the coffers are running on empty and the deficit is growing? How will the NDIS be funded when up and running?
"when we'll come back to surplus" Is that like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow?

he has said '‘….there are some things the public has no particular right to know.’
this should not be one of those things
