Bit of a surprise, eh?
It says in the link that he had vowed to never enter politics again, but some time ago I heard him say that he had left politics too early.
Anyway, he's always been one of my favourite pollies.

Not a surprise to me... not only do labor seem to like to drag up old failed State MP's but Beattie is a media tart... he has called himself that so before the mods go editing this post please do some research...
Beattie is a calssic example of why we need to vote Labor out... he set QLD up to fail then handed it over to the useless Bligh....
God help us if Labor gets in with Car and Beattie on board.

I heard Katter on Radio National recently. I thought he was going to implode ... he sounded so very angry.

I was living in Brissie for part of the time he was Premier. He was such an unusual politician ... if he did something wrong he admitted it, apologised, and did what he could to put things right.
And, if you wrote to him, he would write back, in detail, and actually answer your questions.

popular with who?
its a pathetic move designed so Beattie can take over from Rudd as the Leader of the Opposition after the election

Did he really say he came from working class trash? I haven't heard more than the headlines, but I can't believe he really said that.
