He doesn't remember seeing the menu at the charity event he was guest of honour at?
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-06-12/mal-brough-says-sorry-for-menu-jibe-at-gillard/4748516
For a man that loves his food I am absolutely sure he would have glanced at the menu, it would also have been a huge talking point, amazing it has not leaked earlier - just goes to show the people that attended have absolutely no decorum - it is just not funny at all.

re John's comment about army boots......Help me out here She ele...what's it called; an analogy??

So far all we have is sensationalized hearsay with only one "unidentified" person having "seen" the menu.
LOL - how many restaurants would have a manager called Josephine - not hard to work out which one, eh?
Do you require the same level of proof when it's Gillard or Labor under attack?

So you have no problem with jokes about the PMs private parts?
I'm just gobsmacked that you think it's OK to joke about the PM having a big red box.
There is no analogy that makes it OK.

OK, it is named in this article: http://www.afr.com/p/national/brough_fundraiser_offensive_menu_QIa7s8QMYufkE4o9IRu8AL
I can't find a restaurant of that name that could host a dinner of that caliber. A place where the total bill per head comes to an average of $68 does NOT host VIP functions @ $1000 a head!

Far out.. don;t you think that the Union fundraisers are any better????
There have been some real low jokes and comments made at those fundraisers too.
Both sides do it.. both sides make jokes and denigrate each other...
and yes I did laugh when I read the menu... then I thought someone is in big trouble... and then I thought that if this were between two men it would not even make the news but because it is a joke about a woman it is all over the news.
I think it was a bad taste joke that came to public light and needs to be apologised for... move on.. back to real politics now.

Peter Van Onselen and Kevin Rudd, my local member, but I didn’t get a reply from any of them. I don’t know if they were too busy to notice them at the time,’’ he said.
“Dave” has subsequently clarified on Twitter that he did not attempt to contact Mr Rudd.
Restaurant manager Josephine, who didn’t provide her last name, has confirmed the fundraiser took place on March 28 but said it was a private function and would provide no further information.
So, the FR were able to contact a poerson only identified as Dave, who claimed to have tried to tweet it to Mr Rudd, however later says he did not attempt to contact Mr Rudd.
C'mon hey - this was sent to people 2 months ago, and it is only coming out now? Seriously? Not one person in the offices of those to whom it was sent saw it? They were all too busy?
You really believe that?
Why release it now? Why hold onto it and keep it until now? Why not release it at the time?

what to expect from someone named after a cigarette. at least he doesn't do things by halves, sends a rent boy in to trap slipper and make's tasteless remarks about the Pm's body
and genital area. he's the future of this country ? he's the epitome of the Right.
I don't believe that anyone, in that kind of position, with that kind of experience would authorize that menu at a function where 20 odd other people plus all of the staff would be privvy to it - that in itself is professional suicide.
I don't know the man, so maybe at a function in his own home, but in a public venue with unfamiliar staff and undisclosed discretionary procedures?
That just doesn't sit right.

OMG Really Freaki? :^O
Where was your disapproval about Fred Nile, his fiance and al dente pasta analogy??
I don't agree with the suggestion that John doesn't get it. He gets it. While he and I disagree on many issues, at least he is able to remain objective.

Speaking of pasta, I'm off to prepare dinner.
