Do you have a birdbath in your yard?

If yes,  have you joined the Bathing Bird survey?

All you have to do is record 20 minutes worth of bird watching a few times a week. Good excuse to sit by the window with a cuppa and a timtam Smiley Tongue

It does haven't to be a flash birdbah, even just a dish of water counts.

You can join here  http://root.ala.org.au/bdrs-core/npansw/home.htm  .

Perhaps we could have a special birdbath photo thread for the event.

Thanks Erica. I hope you are right. I have a box of trill bird seed and a huge bag of black sunflower seeds in the cupboard and another honey stick.

I suppose it just takes one little bird to find it and tweet the news.

I was told at the local - pet thingo - not black but grey sunflower seeds.

Don't want to put the wind up you joono - they said the black send them a tad crazy.

Hey - give them the black = crazy enough to come back for grey.

I replenish my 'bird dish' about 3 times a day.

The Lorikeets have it all over the galahs, pigeons, & even cockies.

One thought though, if you feed birds, what happens if you go away for holidays, I've seen cockatoos chew deck railings.

I find that birdies like to have shrubbery nearby for a quick escape from any bullies around.

If the birds are art critics then I have no hope.  I needed Pimpy or Soulart!

If this makes no difference then I will have to find a spot near the fountain, but then I won't have a good view of it.

Looks good J*oono, have you had any visitors?

I ususally have heaps of birds but with the cooler weather and rain I've just had the usually pair of agalhs and a white cocky.

How's the bird baths going? Have you had anything interesting show up?

I haven't had as many parrots this year as last year. Makes me wonder how many have been trapped by the poxy neighbours. The yellow throated honeyeaters are down too. Last year I had a group of 16, this year I have only seen one.

I've also have more of those myna birds that are taking over and destroying the native birds, and topknot pigeons.

There is a pair of rosellas that live here but they have got shy. Actually all the parrots have got skittish whereas last year I could walk past them and they wouldn't move. Another reason why I think they are being trapped.
