?
Do you object to BAG INSPECTIONS at stores?
Do you object to staff asking to inspect your bag? (they are only doing their job)
Will you shop at a store that asks to inspect your bag or will you go elsewhere?
Do bag inspections and security checks help to stop shop lifting and keep prices down?
If you object WHY?
Do you think that objecting to a bag inspection makes a person look guilty or they are guilty?
Rememer that its a condition of entry at just about every major /medium/small store in Australia

Clothes and other items, still have security tags. They are small rectanugular hard plastic bits, usually under a barcode.
The check out person has to swipe them over their scanner (in the counter top, not noticeable) to deactivate them when an item is paid for.
If they forget to do that.. the beepers go of at the exit when customer passes the security bars.
This one is from a box I have at home, it would be quite hard to pick the security tag off.. it is well stuck on and people might notice someone trying to do that.

I've seen those on barcodes of CDs and DVDs etc but I've not seen them on clothes..I know what they look like.. I was more talking about the large plastic tags they used to put on clothes years ago

I went to Target today and there were no signs.
But there was a shop assistant at the exit who wished us a nice day when we left without buying anything (I was carrying a bag)
How refreshing. 🙂

Clothes & lingerie do have security tags on them. I bought some lingerie and the tags weren't deactivated by checkout person and they security things at exit beeped. Have had the same happen with clothes too.
Went to Woolies before, they have a sign hanging up you can see before entry which states Conditions of Entry (all bags it says may be subject to inspection on exit) and they also have a hanging sign saying they have CCTV.
acacia - our Target's 'door person' used to do shopping bag checks .. but now they don't. The staff at the door seems to be more of a 'concierge' now. They have catalogues in their hands and ask customers entering if they would like one, and say the have a nice day thing too.

I went through the checkouts.
No one asked me for a bag search.
I didn't buy (or steal) any underwear, including knickers,
