?
Do you object to BAG INSPECTIONS at stores?
Do you object to staff asking to inspect your bag? (they are only doing their job)
Will you shop at a store that asks to inspect your bag or will you go elsewhere?
Do bag inspections and security checks help to stop shop lifting and keep prices down?
If you object WHY?
Do you think that objecting to a bag inspection makes a person look guilty or they are guilty?
Rememer that its a condition of entry at just about every major /medium/small store in Australia

I'd like to have one of those button thingies made, to wear on my shirt when i go shopping.
the message would read,
"Please don't ask to look into my bag, as refusal may offend".

But I believe the majority of people are not theives so why search everyone for a minority of people. because it is a condition of entering the store (in those stores that provide such notification.) It is also because a recreational thief is less likely to offend if the chances of them getting caught are high. So if it accepted that every person is going to be checked, then the risk factor of being caught increases thus discouraging this kind of theft.
I have a b&m store and never even thought to ask to look in people bags unless you have a sign or some method of notification before the customer enters your store, I would hope not as it is not a condition of entry for your store. and that is ok, but other store owners do choose to make it a condition of entry into their stores. these shops should hire more staff, quite often it is the staff who facilitate the theft..
you can actually tell who is trying to steal from you anyway, only if you are there. even then I don't ask to search, I just make sure they don't have the chance to pinch.

This is a joke. If a bag checked at an airport & the passenger refused are you going & allow that on person with the unchecked bag on a plane????
If a store asks to check your bag why would you refuse?? what would be behind that refusal??
I carry large handbags & always open them voluntarily at a checkout, I have no problem with that, I'm an honest person.
All the resistance by some on here is just bog ignorant stubborness. If they want thieves to priofit at the expense of others then that is their nature not the nature of most.

I just asked a question of all the posters here . . . How many of you would feel too uncomfortable to refuse a bag check if asked by the shop assistant?
I would admire anyone that refused and let them know publicly, I am not sure whether I would or not, either way it is an uncomfortable situation, I guess it would depend how I was asked and how I was feeling at the time, I would never say I wouldn't but after reading your posts you have given me the confidence to do it.
It could be the area I live because since this thread I have spoken to so many people about it and I'm hard pushed to find anyone that thinks it is acceptable to inspect a handbag in front of people and some of the comparisons that people are making is down right ridiculous 🙂

I do find it amusing how on every topic that you dont agree with you talk to "SO MANY PEOPLE" all the time that by some miracle they "ALL AGREE WITH YOU" LOL
It always does amuse me that one.... LOL and a double LOLLOL
I would love to be a fly on the wall watching you when you are asked for a bag inspection, it would be very amusing to see.....
Please do keep us informed when you are asked and please do tell us the full story of your refusal and what happened. It should make for an interesting post and read if its longer than 1 line ..... 🙂 LOL
