I think its sad because its taken away from the apology and the recognition of the grief and pain the parents felt having children in many cases deceptively removed. My heart goes out to them and I am glad as a country we have apologized and recognized that grief.
But I do think its really splitting straws to be hung up on the term 'birth parents' It's needs to be taken in the spirit it was intended as an apology. I hope that somehow despite their pain that they can one day be at peace.

goodness azurline surely you have learned by now that to do anything other than echo the outrage is to be deemed insensitive, lacking in understanding and a big bad meanie.
I hope you bear this in mind next time you even think of so much as voicing your own opinion..
I will try, in the future.....it's hard for me to not give MY opinion when the OP asked Do you think Birth Mothers is an insensitive comment?
Maybe the OP is wrong for asking the question like that? yes, I think it's her fault.....

yup you are right. *nods*

I am not judging anybody.... who is to tell me what I can think or say on cs or anywhere else? ? I clarified it as MY OPINION.
I didn't say you were judging.
It was an attempt to highlight that we are not in a position to judge as we are not one of those affected and offended. If they object to the phrase, it's not my place to say they're wrong.

If my post is quoted, I then assume the comments are directed at the content.

I understand what you are saying Freaki. We (ie;you and I ) can't really answer Donna's question which is specific to the parents of Forced Adoption or rather our opinion isn't of any relevance really .

Az, maybe as you said it was the OP's fault ? lol

I thought it was a discussion. Nothing more, nothing less.
It's not our opinions that matter in terms of some of these people finding the phrase offensive.

The OP asked for opinions. Mine doesn't change based on what someone else might think.... my friend does not find the term offensive and she is affected by the policy and it still wouldn't change if she did........however, I would be mindful of her feelings and not discuss it with her..

maybe them expressing their feelings about appropriate wording is part of that grief and pain.Itt may help them to know that we hear them and understand ?
