Without some disappointments, sadness, and feeling down there would be nothing to compare happiness to and it would be empty and devoid of emotion.

So no I would not take a happy pill. Druggies are after that state and look at the results.

yeh. reckon it is.   if one is stable enough, strong enough, mentally healthy, able to maintain strength within oneself.

one can then cope with outside influences that try flamin' hard to make one unhappy, and be happy
