population?
If not, what group(or opinions) do you think we have an over/under- representation of?
Clearly we have way too many cat lovers on here:|

It would appear you don't leave NSW
NSW is the most diverse state in the country culturally. So If it's hard to find a diverse mix in your average NSW regional centre, then it stands to reason that the mix will most likely be less in other states bar melbourne.
But I do leave NSW occasionally:-D! In the last 2 weeks i travelled to Perth (city to Joondalup every day for 3 days), Brisvegas for 2 days and recently spent a week in Hobart. In comparison to Sydney, these cities are fairly culturally conservative.

Martini claims this place lacks people of different cultures and then latter said she doesn't know.
I am sure that if your roots were in any of the cultures that constantly get beaten on around here, you would have said something by now in support of your own 'culture'.
Maybe I am wrong but if I look at Sydney where only something like 40% of people are born in Australia. And that's looking at geography and doesnt include those that identify as belonging to another culture.
I just googled "Western Sydney and Multiculturalism" and got this from a govt website:
One third of the Western Sydney population has migrated to Australia and half of the world’s nations are represented among its residents.
In the Fairfield LGA alone, over 70 different languages are spoken while Auburn is home to people from over 100 nations.
The largest urban communities of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people live in the region, primarily in the Blacktown, Campbelltown, Liverpool and Penrith LGAs.
Are you telling me that this mix reflects the cultural mix of CS?

Why? I travel every week for work. I see a lot of this country.
Why does that make me a cultural snob?

does it reflect the cultural mix of the rest of australia?

I'm saying we have no way of knowing. You're saying you do.
We have people's opinions and views, whether that's a reflection of their heretage is a different matter.
You're allow to say the opinions appears slewed to one side on the forum.

large proportion of female posters (need more blokes around to even things up), and there seems to be older age group here, don't see to many people in their 20's posting
I think the younger generation are busy off facebooking or twittering or whatever they do these days. it would be interesting to get younger people's persepectives on some of the issues.
