Ive been doing some searching for a couple parts for my ford fairmont ghia.
Ive found the climate control unit i need to replace my current one, but a spare parts company who has one, is charging $195 + $60 Postage coming from Darwin.
Overpriced at all or been taken for a ride?

Hi hunter.. I am sure some of the posters who know more about car parts than the rest of us will be a long later to help you.

Hunter-that price maybe right.-$60 00 postage seems a bit rough.
Try the local Ford dealer or a wrecker with puta contact with
other switched on wreckers -worth a try-hope it all works out for you.............Richo..

I have an old Ford Fairmont.....not a Ghia though
Yeah it's old but I feel safe in it....heavy metal/solid panels and doors....a 'boot' and a decent length bonnet at front.
As a volunteer ambo years ago in regional WA I saw too many car accidents.....learnt that it is better to have a solidly built car when driving. Hatches and 4WD/'SUVs' leave me cold. They 'flip' etc so easily......no-one talks about risk of decapitation do they?
Have to get another window button console thingy as 2 windows won't open atm.Over the last 15 years I have replaced 2x at very affordable price from wreckers. Brand new the price would pay for a weekend retreat, somewhere exclusive-out of my price range.
Don't go near the Ford dealer/s EVER!
Go to auto shops like Auto One or Discount Autos first.....they are reasonable for most stuff and wreckers for the 'sophisticated' worn out parts.

can you fit the part yourself?
if not i'd be searching for an air-cond service work shop, and then ask them if they can get the part for you
annnd, how much for the job
