Does a country have the right to protect it's borders?

To what lengths should a country go to to protect its inhabitants and borders?

Every country on the planet has the right to protect its sovereignty, otherwise there would be no borders anywhere in the world.

Labor abrogated it's responsibility to protect our sovereignty and opened our borders to all who want to sail in here, then beggared our economy to the tune of $11 BILLION DOLLAR  blowout. Just imagine what we could do with that money, hospitals, gonski, NDIS, dental cover for all, schools, infrasrtucture the list is envious of that $11 billion.

They put our country under sovereign risk and were too weak or scared to do anything about it.

Labor are not game to attack the protections put in place so they nit pick around the edges, they are not game to say what they would do if they win the next election because if they even try to go to an election with any plans to water down sovereign border protection they will be toast and they know it.

Our border protection is like shoveling something against the tide. Over 11 million are here now. The border covers a lot of area and every square foot can't be watched. They only need to walk across and once they are here they're not deported unless caught doing something illegal.

My point of mentioning the problem here was that, what's happening here will happen there if you just let people invade your country...where will it end?

Are you willing to push back your retirement to support them?

Are you willing to take a cut to your retirement fund to support them?

Are you willing to pay more taxes for their medical, schooling, etc.

Can you afford all that?

The answer is no. In a perfect world there would be no starving people, people struggling to get by. But it's not a perfect world and the time comes when you need to think about yourself first.

Australia is one of the most generous countries on the planet re this but the  willy nilly invasion and determined breach of our country, kindness and generosity has been  run by criminals and economic illegal immigrants whom will lie and do anything to get to this country.

No boats means no more billions of dollars spent on this massive problem Labor engineered so we can support more aid to countries who deperately need it.

$900m of our money given to Murdoch media in cash because they ran at a loss (no gain to Australians) and our PM says he knows nothing.....

i have already addressed all this...........was all under labor.........but blame the current government.

it wasn't given, it wasn't collected as tax.....there is a difference.

the murdoch companies made a claim on their tax return the ATO knocked it back. they then appealled to the courts and won.

the courts made their deceision on the laws in place in Australia

how is that the work of the current government?

is it right or wrong?

our tax laws definetly need lookimg at, especially where it concerns multinationals and WHERE they pay their tax

I think it is relevant,  if Murdoch can be demonized on here to prop up a spurious and fallacious statement then so can the antics of Apple.
