Does a country have the right to protect it's borders?

To what lengths should a country go to to protect its inhabitants and borders?

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

What does Rupert Murdoch have to do with a country's right to protect its borders.???????? Nothing?

He has once again been made a very convenient scapegoat by the anti Murdoch crew. It is a diversionary tactic that has no impact anymore but the ones who try it on persist in their attempts.

the first question in the op includes not only borders but inhabitants, I would like some protection from Murdochs control and manipulation and the ripping off of our taxes, also some forward thinking policies in regard to climate change - the inclusion of "inhabitants" by the op makes this and lots of other things on topic.

"Does a country have the right to protect its borders

Border control has nothing to do with people who already live here or do business here . It is to protect the country from outside threats.

Murdoch was introduced for other political reasons only in this thread.

"inhabitants" to what length should a country go to to protects its inhabitants and borders?". If as you say in your post that border control has nothing to do with people who already live here or do business here - then what exactly are we "protecting".

Quite obvious really, mentioned early on in this thread what EXTERNAL THREATS border protection is protecting a country from and it's people from ( pirates etc) and it's not Rupert Murdoch!

Poddster commented Murdoch is off topic as well. He wrote the opening post.

There is no way Murdoch is at all relevant to border protection. He is always brought into threads for other political reasons, agenda.

oh so it's not the topic and original post  that decide what is off or on topic but the poster who started the thread, silly me, I shall remember that and make sure I also enforce it on the threads I start.

Re: Does a country have the right to protect it's borders?

I don't know what you mean.

The opening post is about extrernal threats to a country's border.. That is what most were discussing before the
Murdoch hijack? Which was also commented on by the OP.

If you want to twist that into something else go ahead. You will probably notice in the future Murdoch being used to derail threads...it isn't anything new.
