Does it bother you if threads go off topic?

Or if people make off topic posts in threads?

You have no idea how much I would appreciate the 'off topic' not being a constant daily  topic .

All I can do is ask that things change

I guess the obvious answer to that ( for anyone) is to post on topic with out any personal comments. On threads that have a specific topic that is.

It doesnt appear the majority of posters have any problems with doing that?

topics evolve and have many facets. don't mind at all.  a thread engineered to yield a result that is obvious is OK, as long as the poster doesn;t pretend otherwise. Smiley Wink

Am3 of late I have witnessed an ongoing 'cry' of please stay on topic, from my observation the posts were in fact on topic. Personally I prefer a thread to be bought back if the topic suits, that would be in preference to another thread on the same topic.

That's a good point Freddie. I'm sure I saw 2 threads on the same topic in the last couple of days. i thought I must be seeing things, I don't know why they didn't just continue discussion on the first thread, even if it had gone over the page.

As far as off topic, it doesn't really worry me , threads tend to do that after all has been said. I do believe it's not up to any one poster to tell everyone else they are posting OT though, that's a job for the mods.

yes, it's all a little confusing - some topics will have a natural flow that branches off, but still remains on topic - sometimes the op seems to be "chairing" the thread, like at a committee meeting - even when the wording of the op clearly allows for more than one "interpretation"  of the topic. Last time I pointed out that a thread I had started was (in my opinion) going way off topic, I was treated to a rather long post of ebays posting rules. Woman Surprised

I hope i'm wrong but I have wondered if it's used as a 'heads up' to report.

I personally couldn't care less if a thread diverts along the way.

Woman LOL it could be, but I certainly didn't do it for that reason, just was bleeped bleeped that a thread about ageing in Australia was quickly turned into a thread about voluntary euthanasia - just thought that was off. as in off, like a smelly prawn.Woman LOL
